Any new type of weapon you want to see added in?

Halo is full of weapon arsenals. Though in each game, they give out a standard generalized weapon without over complicating its format (Example: One Assault Rifle, SMG, Sniper, Shotgun for each alien race). They don’t ever double in anything if it does not completely destroy a single weapon’s main purpose (Example: Plasma and brute plasma rifle). While it also adds special types of weapons specific in each race (Example: UNSC Hydra, Covenant Energy sword, Forunner Sentinel Beam)

Though, does anyone have any idea of a weapon for Halo Infinite on any of the three races? It can be as basic as a Covenant Shotgun or as complex as a UNSC Blowdart :D. But try not to do anything that already is a weapon but we cant used (Example, Hunter Cannons, Knight Arm-blade, Military knife).

This does no include REQ Variations.

Something that is balanced and fits the sandbox is more what I want to see.

I want a non-seeking Needle LMG.
Faster projectile movement but still not too fast, can detonate on vehicles.

Pondering if it should have an alternate fire mode which changes the needles to a larger type, they can track but only aerial vehicles.

I’d also like to see a covenant LMG. Whatever it may look like.

I would like to see the promethean melee weapon as a hard light whip. Swords, hammers, blades etc have been done to death, but I think a whip would be exotic enough to justify another melee weapon

I thought the Covenant LMG was the Plasma Repeater?

It sounds nice but what would make it different from the rest? Would it be the further away, the whip does less damage (not enough to kill) but enough to brief stun back? Closer, its enough to kill?

I won’t pretend to be an expert on weapon balancing, but I could see it doing less damage than a standard melee, but with significantly more range and a lot faster. The stun effect could be a nice touch if implemented correctly. I realize dark souls is mostly single player, but I thought the whips in that game were implemented well

If Brutes are returning, I’ll like to see an arsenal of new brute weapons. Preferably a Brute explosive sniper rifle or an assault rifle, like a heavier version of the spiker.

I think it’s about time we get to have some fun with the jackal shield personally.

I would also like to see the tech in the spartan laser put into some sort of more compact weapon platform, as some sort of human themed laser rifle intended to compete with classic load out weapons.

Can we get a new grenade too? Halo has needed flash bangs for a long time…

Honestly I’d like them to cut it down some, lol.

I find the Promethean weapons redundant, and I think they would have been a lot cooler if when they were introduced in Halo 4 there were only Power Weapons. I was just thinking about what weapons were introduced in Halo 5 today, and when I went to double check it I discovered there were only two added: the Hydra and the Plasma Caster (besides all the variants.)

I think Halo 2 had the best weapon sandbox, with most weapons having a human/covenant counterpart, each with they own unique quirks.

One Covenant shotgun, please. Thank you very much.

Haha thats what I was saying! I always thought that if the UNSC is a basic shotgun, Forerunner shotgun can trace enemies after it bounces… then maybe the Covenant shotgun can shoot plasma and slow enemies.

Im happy for a good arsenal of sandbox weapons. but as long as they dont make redundant weapons that repeat the same design as another, I think there can always be room for more. Maybe less basic loadout weapons, but more power weapons.

Well, if it were up to me, I’d like to remove tons of weapons first, then make the ones still left unique and then look out for some new stuff.
For me, it’s important to really design the weapons around the faction they belong to. (aesthetically, sound-wise, how they function). So, I’m not a fan of having an covenant AR, Promethean Ar, Promethean Shotgun etc.

My major tweaks would be:

Plasma Rifle: Give it the ability back that it once had - to stun the enemy and I’d go even further and give it the ability to stun vehicles and decrease the damage.

Plasma Pistol: If Dual Wielding returns and you charge up 2 Plasma Pistols at the same time, you should be able to create a gravimetric vortex like you were able to do with the voids tear (One of the very, very few, creative additions).

Energy Sword: While you wear the Energy Sword, you’ll get a slightly higher BMS

Gravity Hammer: Regular Swings (like always) + a charged up Swing, similiar to the plasma pistol. A fully charged up swing will create a shockwave (similiar to Tartarus Hammer in H2) - the further away the enemy is, the less damage the charged up swing will do - !however! the shockwave will be able to blow away the enemy or even the vehicles in your radius. I honestly think that this would give the gravity hammer a more unique role in the weapon sandbox.

As a whole new weapon?
I’ve always thought that something similiar to a Brute Spear or a spiky Brute Boomerang / Throwing Stick would be a nice addition to the Brute Weapon Sandbox (just from a aesthetic / design standpoint), but to be honest, I don’t know what their utility would be. If there is a way to fit such weapons with a unique role into the weapon sandbox, I’m all for it.
