343i doesnt feel any better as of current if anything its the same to becoming worse relative to the state and where halo infinite is going
Probably nothing they would acknowledge. I wonder where all the people who normally like to complain will go now.
Surely they will fit right in on Reddit. I like to have a good complain from time to time but that place is too negative for me.
Aggressive skill-based matchmaking in social playlists is fundamentally ruining fps shooters including halo.
I love solo queing in with 3 randos against a full squad of 4 (not)
Personally?
I’m dropping off. I haven’t been playing much, but with Waypoint shut down I’m just out of Halo for a while. Trying to move on, accept the trilogy as it stands and forget all the pain and wasted anticipation over the past 10 years.
From what I can tell, Halo as we know it is over. They will not return to a story focused campaign release schedule, not now that they have a taste of infinite mtx.
Good luck everyone.
Last words?
Thank you for the learned discourses. I’ve learned heaps over the years.
Trust in TrueSkill2. It works. I just wish 343 would get off their -yoink- and fix the problems with the CSR.
Random based MM is not the answer. SBMM is important. It helps, a lot. But it’s a very complicated issue - and 343 need to explore other ways of balancing the games. To take the pressure off SBMM and make Social more enjoyable.
Infinite has pretty much got movement mechanics down pat. We don’t need to go back to “classic” Halo. Take the nostalgia glasses off. Halo 3 MP was -yoink-.
Give me back my Bubble Shield. Just for customs.
Fix the coating system. I love the concept but not the execution. Separate the patterns from the colours/textures. Let us combine them ourselves. And if you made them single use you could double the sales (or more).
Speaking of MTX - they may, or may not, be your cup of tea. But support 343 where you can. They are a fact of life going forward. By actually buying things you like / use, pushes 343 into making more of that type of content.
Thank you for all those who got upset over the journey - losing the plot and getting abusive. Whether you were right or wrong lost meaning. Your tears have sustained me.
Don’t give up. Hopefully we all eventually find what we are looking for in Halo Infinite.
My last words are for 343 to leave Infinite in the past and move to the next game and listen to your fans!
Last words from me. I appreciate what 343i tried to do with Infinite. The gameplay, art style and even free to play to bring in new players.
Sadly I don’t think it’s worked out as well as anyone hoped. I think in light of the lack of progress made on fundamental issues since launch, I think it’s time to admit that the next game should be built on Unreal. Focus on trying to make Halo feel like Halo in an engine without a decade plus of baggage and tap into the available industry expertise.
If not saying give up on Infinite. It deserves better than that and whenever support is finished up, it should be left in a better state than it is right now.
People still love Halo and despite everything that has happened there is still untapped potential. Please make the most of that.
Try to enjoy yourselves more everyone.
Hope I’ll get to run into fun people on these forums in game as well, maybe we’ll get to duke it out, maybe we’re going to team up and destroy. We’ll see!
Also, good riddance to all the losers on these forums that just abuse flagging privileges and flag everything they don’t like to have their responses and posts hidden, lol. Soon you’re going to be stripped of that power when the forums go down and have move to a forum that won’t give you such privileges.
Everyone else was cool lol.
SBMM is a travesty - Remove it pls
Yes. I have something I’d like to mention here. Since these forums are about to be closed, I figured I might as well say this.
I would like to say how atrocious the general level of spelling and grammar are on these forums (and countless other places on the internet).
First of all, there ARE NOT apostrophes in plurals of words. Please, please stop using apostrophes in plurals of words. This is one of those spelling/grammar issues that people learn in kindergarten and is then drilled into them by all of society for the rest of their lives. If this has not been your experience, then your school system failed. Sadly, the use apostrophes in plurals of words on the internet has become so widespread that it has seeped out into the real world. I used to work on the campus of a major university where people had put up signs that said for people to “wear mask’s regardless of vaccination status.” Again, this was on a major university campus. A well-regarded four-year college had these signs up with this mistake. For the love of society, please stop doing this anywhere, especially the internet.
Also, even though this is the internet, please, for the love of all communication, use at least a foundational level of correct spelling and grammar. No, I’m not telling you to use the correct “you’re/your,” “there/their/they’re,” etc. What I am asking is just to put effort into what you say and how you say it (this is applicable to more than just spelling and grammar).
Another point is to proofread what you type before sending it please. Autocorrect is so terrible now, in very large part due to these people who make these sorts of egregious spelling and grammar mistakes being the ones who now develop and maintain autocorrect features. Autocorrect also still includes settings that change what people type based on what they type in the past, so mistakes they make regularly alter how autocorrect works for them. Keep this in mind when proofreading. Also, don’t trust Grammarly. Its advice is often grammatically incorrect, and it sometimes even changes your text’s meaning from what you intended to convey (no, Grammarly, I do NOT want to say that the meeting is at noon – I purposefully wrote “I think the meeting is at noon” because I do not know for sure IF the meeting is at noon). Also take note of the “Its” at the beginning of this sentence. This is not “it is,” which is often shortened to “it’s.”
One last point is this: If other people correct your spelling/grammar, even on the internet, that DOES NOT necessarily mean they are attacking you, are angry at you, think you are inferior/they are superior to you, or have any other sort of malicious intent toward you. It’s much more likely that they’re trying to help you. Even if you do not want their help, you shouldn’t attack them or get angry at them if they are not clearly being antagonistic toward you. Even then, getting angry in return isn’t the best reaction.
There. Given that these forums are about to be closed, take note of this information as you will. I am one of these other people who try to help others in relation to their spelling and grammar. I am not angry at you people because of your spelling/grammar mistakes. I just want to help.
Ahem
I miss the old Waypoint.
I guess if there would be one thing I’d say to 343 it’d be: realize the job you’re working at. This is an IP steeped in high expectations and ever raised bars. As creatively unfulfilling as it is to hear, people ultimately do just want Halo 3 2, or Halo: Reach 2, or whatever. At this AAA company, you are less so conventional artists and moreso chefs at a popular resteraunt; the only times you’ll get to experiment with the formula is when it’s viable to add a new item, but for the most part, it’s continuing to make the same dishes that’ve kept people walking through the doors for literal decades. Because, and here’s the rough truth, no one is here to eat a 343 creation. They’re here for Halo. You’re just the people that run this joint now. If there’s something about that that doesn’t sit right with you, that makes you feel creatively stifled, then start looking for new jobs yesterday.
Halo is better being laid to rest at this point. It’s more damaging to beat a decaying horse than to bask in the glory of the old games.
Halo isn’t a cash cow anymore, let it rest.
Yeah everyone here really enjoyed complaining.
What an odd thing to say.
I agree with your message, but I think you’re missing a word in this sentence. =P
