What ideas of the lore of the precursers do you have, are they still living outside the galaxy or are they still sentient within the flood?

For me the Prisoner of Charum Hakkor was probably the last precursor. Their legacy goes on though…
Halo Warfleet states any remaining Precursors have sunk to unreachable depths.
Depending on how one takes that, it sounds like Precursors still exist in the galaxy somehwere as the few surviving Precursors who survived the wrath of the Forerunners split into two groups. One side entered a state of suspended animation and the other side chose to become the dust which would create the Flood, ten million years later. The way I read the unreachable depths though is the Precursor conscience known as the Primordial has sank to unreachable depths. After its physical body was destroyed by the Iso-Didact in Primordium, the Ur-Didact was captured by a gravemind in Halo Silentium and it is revealed the Primordial’s conscience lived on inside the Flood.
In a wierd twisted way the Flood are the inheritors of the Precursors.
They’re all very dead (at least the original forms) even if they went to sleep all their tech is based on neural level that made it particularly weak against the halo array blast, so the ones in cryo most likely died when the array fired, and the ones that become the flood starved to death, so the only “survivors” of this civilization are the flood samples that are scattered trough the forerunner installations, my question would be if the flood at their apex evolutionary state (not seen to date) can actually revive that civilization, or it will just consume everything in its path?
I’d say they’re somewhere outside of conventional travel. They’re not necessarily extinct. Some went into suspended animation without turning into dust that later became the flood.

Both really. Some went into a suspended animation of sorts, or at least that’s what I think it was referred to. They’re somewhere out in the Universe it would appear. Others ground themselves into dust, which later became the Flood.

I believe and hope, that the Primordial resides on Zeta Halo along with Mendicant Bias, and that we will be meeting them in upcoming games

I wouldn’t mind seeing the Primordial but it’s original body was destroyed. If anything, only brittle dust would remain if any of it was preserved. The Mendicant Bias anticipated it would end service after Installation 08’s premature activation in Halo 3. And besides, it’s not on Installation 07 anymore, but being a forerunner A.I, who’s to say.
