Any idea when the flighting program will begin?

If Infinite is gonna release holiday 2020 and 343 wants to have ample time to apply community feedback, they kinda need to release the first Infinite flighting session real soon. Any idea when that will be?

Not yet.

We’re limited to baseless speculation until 343 release info on it, I’m afraid.

That’s kind of a shame. With just over a year left until Infinite’s release, there isn’t much time left for a full fledged flighting program with adequate time for 343 to apply feedback.

No clue yet, I’m hoping they release a date at XO19.

The H5 beta release window was announced at e3 6 months ahead so i think the soonest we could hope for is march/april assuming we get an announcement at xo19? Could be a ‘normal’ beta/flight in late summer (ie: a server/bug test). Its a shame that despite the development being almost twice as long as 5 the beta will most likely be even closer to release…

Well I guess they aren’t looking for as much feedback on gameplay and design as they were with H5. That’s ok though, as long as 343 deliver a good product.

Sure this type of thread has come up before but I believe there too busy finishing off the MCC flights before they can start the ‘Infinite’ flights. I suspect we’ll get Infinite flights sometime early 2020 or just before/after E3. I wouldn’t be surprised if they announce info just before they break up around xmas/new year 2019/2020.

Didn’t they state multiple times that the MCC developement had zero impact on the Halo Infinite development?

Yes they have, but flighting is separate from developing. I feel like since Infinite and MCC flights use the same program, they’d kinda have to take turns. They didn’t run pc and Xbox flights at the same time for MCC.

Bug fixing and polishing is part of developement. The flights are being used as segmented betas to find these issues. If the flights between the games are interfering with each other’s opportunity to find game breaking issues or instabilities that only a beta could provide then the MCC is interfering with the delveopment of HI. So I hope your ‘feeling’ is incorrect as further delays on a 5 year long wait is bad enough for not having time to properly ‘flight’.

I hope I’m wrong too. I really want to get a taste of Infinite gameplay several months before E3. H5 beta was 9 months before launch, and they couldn’t implement all feedback changes in time (e. g. Rocket Launcher.)

If 343 wants Infinite to be a full game at launch, we must see the first flight at the very least before year’s end.

As mentioned before… 343’s hands are tied by Microsoft… who won’t want any new Halo footage released before they officially unveil the new Xbox.
So, forget trying to work the timings around the 2020 release of the game.
Work out when MS are likely to officially unveil Scarlet (X019 vs E3 vs Other?) - and the Halo 6 stuff will then come flooding.

Sure maybe but I have my doubts about that. Flights for Infinite should have in theory been in flights well before Infinite’s release or they might as well call them demo’s.
Plus the MCC flights are looking like there getting closer to being finished so there focus could end up shifting more to Infinite next. Even if they claim MCC isn’t distracting from Infinite since so far it’s seeming more, more like it is, yet not a single shred of info on the Infinite flights.

If they want fans to check that Halo is being done right then they shouldn’t leave it to the last minute or it could end just feeling like a demo instead of an actual test where nothing get’s majorly overhauled.

hopefully theres a beta in mid 2020

Obviously when Reach is completely done and when they are good and ready! No need in rushing 343i we don’t need another crap game at launch!

I want to say December as that’d give them around a year, but I think it’ll probably be within the first couple of months of 2020.

Post e3 2020 would be my guess . Roughly a six month window pre release

This. They said in the E3 2019 blog post that we can’t expect anything from Infinite until E3 2020.

Edit: pulled the quote.

> As for what’s next, E3 2020 will be a big moment for Halo Infinite. Until we reach that destination in 2020, we’ll continue to embrace the mystery and wonder of Halo and the endless opportunity and potential of this engine, this hardware and, most of all, this team.

Seriously? That only gives them 6 months until launch. Plus, it’s gonna be a flighting program rather than a standard beta like Halo 5 was, so the whole process will take much longer.

If that’s the case, then they really need to delay the game until spring 2021. Either that or start they start talking Infinite ahead of schedule.

6 months just isn’t enough time for a game that’s supposed to be a “spiritual reboot”.
