Any hopes and wishes for Halo 6?

What I want is for Halo 6 to look as good as the Halo 5 Beta aesthetically. I love how the polished and shiny it looked. It makes me feel bad for myself not being able to play it. Hopefully with Project Scorpio’s power, they don’t need to bring down the visuals in Halo 6 as they did in Halo 5.
What do you think? Are there things you wish for in Halo 6?

No sprint, no sprint, a good campaign, great story, less prometheans, fun multiplayer, and no sprint.

Yeah, a good campaign, no more “osiris”, more elites, more marines, better AI, Playable Elites, some Reach like Firefight with every enemies posible including some flood, and no S-II deaths.

  • Classic character designs but still improved (if Halo Wars 2 pulled it off, so can Halo 6 right?) - More well-written Campaign story - The Flood returns, but introduced in properly (reason how they came back and they’re horrific appearances like in the first Halo Trilogy). - Banished forces joining in on the fight - ^^^ Which also means more brutes - Halo Reach-like Customization - More marines and Spartans (Halo 5 didn’t have too many UNSC soldiers or even humans in majority of the campaign) - More Elites and maybe make them playable and cannon in the multiplayer/Warzone - More fun Easter eggs - Bring back or introduce more vehicles - Dual wielding plz

Everything below is what I want Halo 6 to have at launch with relatively high levels of polish.

Campaign:

  • Improved Graphical Fidelity with HDR Support. - 60fps - Return of Splitscreen [2 player Campaign/Arena/Warzone, 4 player Customs] - Halo Wars 2’s hybrid art-style. - Soundtrack focusing on more unique melodies with variation and less focus on constant strings or overpowering brass. - A Chief only campaign with 10+ missions. - Removal of squad system. - Installation 04C / Reach / Maethrillian / Ark locales [Likelihood depends on story] - A narrative focused on character development through action and consequence, not implication and references. - Forerunner guards, additional sentinel variants [Protector, Enforcer, Retriever] and Banished forces filling the enemy roles, I’d rather the Prometheans be ditched entirely as they are not compelling enemies and never have been in my opinion. [Unlikely] - Improved A.I. with larger range of tactics. - Stronger Marine Presence. - Less linear level design. - Terminals [Viewable in-game] with supplementary lore, not plot necessary information. - Scoring [Individual and Team] / Timing for levels. - Collectible Skulls that can actually melee enemies. - Easter eggs for various difficultiesArena:

  • 1-50 skill based ranking system in Ranked Playlists, each 10 ranks fit divisions; Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Onyx. - Additional credit based progressive rank that increases through all modes of play. - Return of Military Ranks, not meaningless numbers. - Ranked, Social, Community Playlists. - Ranked: Lone Wolves [FFA], Team Slayer [BR Starts], Team Objective [4v4], SWAT, Double Team - Social: Slayer [AR Starts], Rumble Pit, Objective [5v5], Multi-team, Infection, BTB, Invasion - Community: Action-sack, Grifball, Race, Weekly Highlight Playlist [Shotty Snipes / Rock n’ Rail / Juggernaut / etc.] - 15+ In-house maps, Ideally 7 Small, 3 Mid, 5 Large. No more than 2 remakes. - 6 additional in-house forge maps highlighting forge canvasses. - Gameplay refining Halo 5’s, removal of Slide and Spartan charge, limited sprint, heavily reduced aim-assist/bullet magnetism. [Ideally I’d want a return to classic gameplay but that’s not happening in Halo 6] - Nerf Automatic range. - Remove Smart-scoping in favor of traditional scoping [Unlikely] - Dedicated ServersWarzone:

  • Larger variety of objectives [Bomb Plants, Payloads, Destructible Structures] - More varied bosses with focus on movement/attack patterns [Not bullet sponges] - 5+ Maps with varying themes [UNSC, Militia, Civilian, Forerunner, Sanghelli, Banished] - Larger sense of scale [More AI, active skyboxes] - Streamlining of REQ stations - Replace Scout Warthog with usable Troop Hog [Unlikely]REQ System [Would prefer removed altogether, but that’s not happening]:

  • Removal of all armor pieces/variants [This is the dealbreaker for me, especially if the gameplay is going with Halo 5’s] - Removal of emblems - Armor Skins (Stripes, Numbers…Teeth) I’d be okay with. - Weapon/Vehicle Skins [Within Reason, I know I sound like a broken record but pls no Pizza skins] - Weapon/Vehicle Variants - Warzone only, I actually like this idea. Silenced SMG, ODST Pistol, CE Magnum, Halo 2 BR, Flame Warthog, Banished/Heretic vehicles, etc. Offers more variety to the sandbox without compromising Arena. - Announcer Packs from Halo Wars 2 and 5. I’d love to hear Cutter say ‘Unfrigginbelievable’.Custom Games / Community Features:

  • Return to full suite of features, editable base traits, etc. - Return of game-modes like ODDBALL, Regicide, Headhunter, Rocket Race, Pinata, etc. - Customs Browser with Instant Download, Tagging and Rating systems. - ‘343’s Favorites’ section with community voted maps and gametypes; competitions and events could also be shown here. - In game Spartan Company support, lists of members, clan-sub-emblems/tags, etc. - Customizable emblems - Individual Mute for players in addition to ‘Mute All’ - Players remain together post-game - UI Redesign to echo Reach’s; Player Armor, Pose, REQ completion, Commendation Completion, Rank, Company, Tag, challenges complete, all visible from lobby. - ‘Legacy’ with Halo 4/5 completion shields and main stats. - Player ‘type’ options, ‘Chatty, Team Player, Casual’ etc. - Base armor unlock through credit system, armor variants unlock through in-game challenges. - Halo Reach levels of customization for Spartans, ideally with both gauntlets this time, not just the left one. - Playable Elites with Halo 3 or better levels of customization.Forge / Theatre:

  • Multiple Forge Palettes - Expand on Halo 5’s Forge with ‘A.I. Zones’, limited path-finding A.I. with basic commands [Guard Area, move to location at * seconds, etc.] - Player reactive environment pieces, Lights, Doors, Bridges, etc. - Employ simpler control scheme option for less adept Forgers - Include REQ Variants of all weapons/vehicles in Forge, same as Halo 5. - Dropships - Functional Theatre for all gamemodes. - First person view of other players in Theatre.Minor Things [Things I don’t expect, but would appreciate]:

  • H2A Sniper Design, the Halo 4/5 one is horrible and takes up too much of the screen. - Concept Art for menu backgrounds, I have a Reach Bias for U.I. and menus but it’s only because it’s the best implemented thus far. - Moving title screen with emotional tracks for ambiance. Less Halo 4/5 more Halo 2/3, but it doesn’t have to be blue. - Scorpion Projectile Arc. I appreciate the minor skill gap this creates. - Team colors for Mongooses/Structures - Cyclops instead of Mantis - Usable Civilian vehicles; Forklift, Cart…Police Cruiser… - Return of Falcon and Hornet, ditch the Wasp, it’s a poor man’s Sparrowhawk anyway. - Weapon Specific Assassinations - Golf-Club Specific Assassination - Have Skulls look like Skulls and Bombs look like Bombs, none of this ‘Indiana Chief and the Crystal Cranium’ nonsense. - Back to Mature rating [Very Unlikely]I know it seems like a lot, but these are the standards this franchise has set for itself in the past and should be looking to maintain and surpass in the future. I think what I’ve laid out is quite fair considering Halo is Microsoft’s flagship franchise and wants it to last for another 30+ years. Ideally I’d prefer elements removed, and others added, but I’m talking about what Halo 6 ought to [and technically needs to] be in order to keep the franchise afloat, let alone improve it.

I would be amazed if they could do these changes in Halo 6:

  1. Master chief centered campaign (few solo) with few campaigns of Spartan Jerome (Red Team), Locke & Arbiter.
  2. Split screen for sure.
  3. Return of Flood (Awaited since Halo 4)
  4. A new enemy (Alongside brutes)
  5. Halo 3 anniversary DLC in MCC
  • Character development, interaction, and depth. - More Campaign missions. - No cliff hanger endings/some form of closure while leaving things open enough for continuation into the next game. - Slow down the pacing of the story, don’t be vague on details, actually explain things, and don’t expect us to fill in the blanks just to move things along faster. - Terminals to tell side stories/give more depth to what is going on like previous titles. - Every single Alien species represented (except for the Yonhet because rubber forehead humanoid Star Trek aliens do not belong in my Halos), including subspecies like the various Kig-Yars. - Male AND female aliens respectfully and accurately represented (please do not add eyelashes, hair, or try to make female aliens look humanish just to make them look “attractive”, “sympathetic”, or “relatable” … it’s not believable and incredibly annoying. Take notes from how Mass Effect handled it if anything). - More Exuberant Witness. - Arbiter and Chief interactions. - Blue Team face reveals (aside from Chief). - Mass Effect 3 style “get every species to work together to fight a common threat” scenario would be really cool. - Keep the Halo charm and surprises going. Halo 5 did do this with Exuberant, Covi chatter returning, and the Voices of War pack to name some examples, and we need to continue it. Those are the kinds of little details that make Halo stand out and feel special. - Playable Elites. - Elites look closer to Reach and/or Halo 2 Anniversary. At least fix their head design… - Spartan face customization (at least for Firefight). - A San’Shyuum multiplayer emblem because they’re my favorite. - Color slider bars for Spartan armor customization because I hate the limited choices and current options.

For the love of the Holy Flying Spaghetti Monster have a good aiming system when the game launches.

damn I forgot all about playable Elites, yeah definitely Elites. It’s too late for 5, but maybe we’ll see gameplay with splitscreen with Arbiter and Chief

I actually want it less shiny and plastic and more griddy and rough like halo 3 and reach. I want to have a more properly told story and cinematics to be all done by BLUR (like halo 2 remastered)

I agree with you, less plastic and more metal please

Interesting thing too note, I was playing Halo 3 on the MCC and my sister (not a gamer) thought it was newer than Halo 5.

Gameplay:

  • Split-screen (guaranteed) - Playable Elites - Dual-wielding? - Flamethrower, Spiker, Mauler, and Spike Grenade returning
    Customization:

  • More classic helmets; Rogue GEN1, HAZOP GEN1, GUNGNIR GEN1, ODST, an actual Mark V , JFO, and CQC[/li] - Return of select GEN2 armors; HAZOP, Oceanic, Prefect - Reach-style customization system with expanded coloring, tertiary armor colors, and black undersuits - Customizable HUD - Giving your character cosmetic battle damage, including a cracked visor - Option to have a glowing visor (complete with brightness and contrast sliders)[/list]

I personally believe a lot has to change from halo 5 to halo 6. Sorry for my terrible grammar and spelling.

The aiming needs to be fixed. I have tried everything to fix the aiming on my side and before anyone says get better, its not that at all. I have tried changing my sensitivity multiple times and still doesn’t feel smooth or proper. For me its one of the biggest parts as to why I find it so hard to enjoy halo 5.2nd thing that needs a huge fix is the hit detection, many times I have been shooting a guy and the hit scan will not pick it up and I know for a matter of fact my aimer was on him. Its extremely frustrating when you lose a 1 on 1 battle due to terrible hit detection.

In my opinion I do believe grenades are extremely overpowered in halo and extremely inconsistent. I won’t be anywhere near a grenade and somehow it will completely take my shield off or even one hit me. Their has been many times where I have thrown a grenade at someone and it will land beside them and not even scratch them one bit.

I’m going to put radar and maps in the same paragraph just because I personally believe they’re tied together. The maps are brutal in Halo 5. The remakes were a terrible idea and with the awful radar we have that barely works, it makes them even worse. I’m really hoping we get good new maps for halo 6 that are actually enjoyable and radar that actually works like it did in halo 2, 3. Then you have invisibility that makes the maps even harder to enjoy, especially due to fact that radar doesn’t even pick him up at all. Invisibility should work like it has in previous halo’s.

Vehicles were a huge part as to why I always preferred halo over call of duty. In this game they are not enjoyable at all. Big team battle and warzone isn’t even fun when you’re using vehicles, you die so easily. I personally believe halo 3 and reach had it perfect for vehicles.

That’s because art direction is always more important than graphics. And classic Halo had great art direction. Look at a game like Okami. It will always look good because of the great art direction.

Man I still need Okami, they need to rerelease that on PC and consoles for that 1080p/4k

H2A art style, ODST or Reach firefight, no microtransactions, less/no promethians, story focused on Chief, remove Sprint and clamber and maybe just get rid of all the Spartan abilities while your at it.

Playable Elites!!!
Arbiter screen time
Lots of Blue team missions
Fighting the banished!
Duel wielding

We see all the Spartans.
ALL OF THEM.
From the Orions up to the S-IVs.
And all the ones from the canon too. I want Cortana to be faced by the combined force of the entire surviving S-II compliment. Teams Blue, Grey and Red, plus Naomi.
