I just got this bug (for the first time) about 50 minutes ago after the build i was on massively glitched out and when I loaded a new build I had this glitch and I am wondering if there is any good fixes as most of the Topics on here about this are not very helpful with fixes or people arguing (or saying 343i is -Yoink-).
I am currently installing the game again with it being about 60% done at the time of me writing this and i’m kind of hoping this fixes it.
But if this does not fix it I would like to know of any other ways to at least try and fix this before i just give up.

I’m sorry to hear that dude, i was about to give up too after trying everything i could think of but then i got it working by button mashing the find game tab.
Hopefully this gets patched soon since it’s so annoying and theirs no real fix for it, everyone has different ways for it to stop doing it temporarily, maybe once Halo 5 goes Gold they may release a patch or sometime after launch of it but god i really hope a patch comes soon

A content patch is incoming, but when it will drop and what it will fix or add is a mystery at the moment.
Wow I sure wish I could play the game I payed for and actually use the service that I pay monthly for. It would be so great if 343 could fix this damn bug. I haven’t been able to play online in this game in 5 months. “Downloading latest data” -Yoink-.
Same thing for me. I hadn’t played HMCC for about a month then got on to play yesterday and have been stuck at the “Downloading Latest Data” screen when trying to play multiplayer. I’ve tried deleting my HMCC saved date, hard rebooting it to delete the cache, and opened the xbox port forwarding on my router to go from a “strict” NAT to now an “open” NAT. Hard rebooted it again and still nothing; I still get that damn “Downloading the latest matchmaking data. Please wait.” message! This is ridiculous and unacceptable.
UPDATE!
I FINALLY got it working/fixed!! I copied over the game to an external HDD and tried launching the game from the external HDD and same thing; “Downloading Latest Data”. So next I deleted HMCC from the internal HDD and then moved it over from the external HDD, deleted the games saved data, and then deleted the game from the external HDD. I then hard rebooted the console. To my great surprise the damn stupid message didn’t pop up and I was able to search for games.
