I’ve noticed that Arena has gotten really challenging lately with csr this season. I got my onyx last season, and hadn’t been as gung ho this season. Feel like one loss equals three wins. Crazy ranking rubberbanding; dropping csr quicker and gaining it so much slower.
I know they say it had the halo 3 1-50 and 50-58+ yadda yadda. But I feel like losses are ridiculus and wins are not very rewarding.
Any similar experiences or sharing of why?
Are you playing with friends who are lower rank than you? I’m pretty sure that can change the way you gain csr.
Eh yes and no. Some are within same tier (diamond), some have been lower (plat), and some have been above me (onyx).
Honestly I’ve also lost a lot this season with solo queue, playing with friends that are less aware, or just me not doing well.
It’s just the csr loss feels so drastic this season.
Agreed. I play mostly FFA and coming 2nd nets me a loss of csr in most cases. I just placed 2nd below a blatant smurf, got +8 k/d and went down quite a bit. All players below me were unranked except a plat 2. I’m only diamond 2 myself but it seems I only rank up if I win, and even then only by a tiny amount. Waaaay harder than last season. In the end it doesn’t really matter but I like to feel like I’m progressing
Josh Menke cleared this situation up in his April 3rd Matchmaking Feedback Update. Looks like everyone is experiencing some sort of strange CSR behavior.

Don’t worry too much about it, it’s happening to everyone and will balance out. More about this in next week’s update.

Thanks for posting that, couldn’t find anything about it. I wish the OCD in me didn’t require me to grind to Onyx! I have more fun when playing people better than me
I have been talking about the sudden change in drops in another forum. Wtf happened? I’m dropping after every game unless I win, from Diamond 6 to 3 in matter of days? Wtf?
