One of the things I absolutely love about Halo 4 is the commendation system. It rewards people for their certain skills. Diehard completionists might hate it though.
Anyways, the question at hand. What commendation are you going for? I know most people probably just play for playing, but I certainly want to get something done on the way.
For me, I’m going for UNSC Loadout Mastery, the Protector Helmet. Edit: Got it :3 If your commendation ain’t in the poll, reply with it.
So far, I’ve got DMR, Spartan Slayer, Assistant, Hail of Death, Exterminator all mastered. On my way to BR ‘n’ Frag Nade now. Edit: Now I’ve got too much to list ;D

Forerunner Destroyer-Unlocks Vanguard
Assassin- Unlocks Venator
All the armor related commendations… yummy.

I was thinking of doing the same, but Spartan Laser will be TERRIBLE…
I’ve never played to specifically master any one commendation in this game, I have however, already maxed out many of the commendations or am close to maxing many of them. The Assistant commendation was ridiculously easy to master in this game as you can put one shot into an opponent and get the medal somehow.
It’s amazing how many assists I get due to killsteals, and I’m not even given the consolation prize of Assistant - Master. Just how many assists do I need, 343? 
I want covenant mastery, but the plasma pistol, eugh.

Pro-tip:
Kills with the shotgun and pistol in Flood count for their commendations. Unfortunately you can’t farm the energy sword in flood though.
First Strike for the assault stance. Since I like big team game types I’m not exactly in favour of the statistics. Tried farming Flood for a bit (three rounds three chances for first strikes per match) but even though it improves on the Infection of old it’s not really my thing (also being stealthy is hard with a stink cloud).
Gonna play more Dominion since all the base resupplies will make getting the three Ordnance stances easier.
I want that Verdant visor unlocked, but the Splatter commendation is a real pain even with Wheelman. I used to rack up Splatter Sprees and Vehicular Manslaughter medals like crazy in Halo 3, whether it was the Ghost, the Chopper, or the Warthog. Now I’m lucky if I get one splatter every three games.
I seriously hope they buff the vehicles back to their Halo 3 status, I really do. Especially the Warthog and Ghost. I’m so tired of getting blown up by DMRs and Sniper Rifles…

Really the only way to get it is by Wraith, Ghost, or Banshee.
But using the Wraith is risky, and you will rage hard if you try to splatter people with the ghost, they will always just jump over it unless you ambush them.

Use the Banshee as a kind of one-use vehicle. In Reach, you’d be able to survive for awhile, but in Halo 4 I usually go for a quick splatter Killtac followed by instant death.
I should be done with Assistant Master fairly soon. I always get a ton of assists.

Anyways, my friend Mastered Splaser by constantly playing Dominion. It’s a terrible gametype, in my opinion, but it’s a Godsend for Saw, Rockets, Splaser…
Scattershot spawns on Haven are getting me close

Dominion Mastery (50% or so done)
Want Orbital Aeon and Commando a lot.
The Spartin Laser can be easy with a few tricks, and I get 3-4 kills per laser.
1st: a warthog is your best friend, kill one gets you 2-3 laser kills. Trick is start charging before you expose yourself to the Hog or before it comes around for kills.
2nd: learn the sound before it shoots. There is a spot were it will fire in a split second but you can release to not waist the -Yoink-. I learned this in halo 3, to the dismay of my friends.
3rd: if you sensitivity is high you can spin the laser in a 90 degree arc. This will kill ghosts and banshees but will only damage shields, and Hogs. Look for flat areas to do this and do not expect to kill Spartins even with their shield down.
4th: moling a rock is the best for taking snipers out. Get it half charge, pop up, aim and duck right back down. If you miss, you might as well kiss your head goodbye.

My friend (the aforementioned one who finished Splaser xD) always suggests playing Regicide with 6 people.
Before you protest, not boosting. He suggests basically a gentlemen’s game in which everyone agrees to use only PP 
Seems only logical…
