Is there any chance for a double REQ point weekend ever happening? I may not play Halo 5 much, but the main reason why is because of how ridiculous the REQ system is, warzone troubles being the other problem, but this isn’t about that. Of the I believe there are I’m going to say at least 1000-1300 items in the game to unlock you can only get 2 per pack with often times crap RNG and unless you use boosters which I only seem to have luck for in Arena which I prefer not to play you only get a few hundred more to about 3x more which to my experience you are more likely to disconnect while using and don’t get refunded for if you are. That is also topped off with getting around I’m guessing 2500-2900 from the most rewarding per match being mythic WZ. I don’t mind micro transactions, but of all the games I’ve played or heard of this game seems to define pay to win what with how tedious and unrewarding actual time and effort is in this game.
Please don’t do this in Halo 6, I think I speak for us all when I say we don’t want a game with so much potential be ruined by micro transactions like this and too many people with too much money to just throw out the window.

Please dont speak for me. I dont mind the req system and wouldnt care if it returned. It doesnt take that long to unlock everything if its done correctly. Bronze->Silver->Gold.

I agree with Nooga. Req system isn’t perfect but it’s better than the map pack system. IMO. All I ask for with the req system is more cosmetics unlocked strictly through game play and let exclusives actually stay exclusive (Helioskrill and sticker shock)

It sounds like you just don’t want to put the time in. Yeah it can take a while, but a lot of games are like that nowadays. Plus, you do get your boosts back.
Imagine playing during a time when there was no FF, and no way to get your boosts back they were just gone, very little social just Warzone and ranked. Things have gotten a lot better. Just put the time in. It’s not forcing you to spend the money.
The system is fine with the only problem being that not enough is unlocked through commendations, and too many exclusive items have been given out in the pool.

everytime i’ve been disconnected i didn’t get to keep my boost which almost everytime is a ultra rare or legendary, unless i missed the post saying you keep those boosters which i didn’t get to keep if you are disconnected, they are lost. if you look at my stats you’ll see i’ve put plenty of time into the game (level 104 i think it was), also as far as REQ unlocks go, i have enough of everything to get at least 1 ultra rare in every gold (i’ll buy gold every so often to see if the rares are low enough for it to be useful). i’ve had the game since launch day and only reason i don’t have everything is because i had other games to play

Your boosts do come back to you, it may not be right away but unless they’re fulfilled, you get them back.

thatwould also be fine since we wouldn’t have around 50-80% of our unlocks being completely based on RNG, if that part of it was like H3, 4, or reach then i wouldn’t voice whatever complaints i may have

If you didn’t get them back then either they were fulfilled or you just didn’t notice its return. I have done that a few times. Cried to myself when I didn’t get the boost only to realize that it was returned to me. It’s been like that for a while now. I can’t remember when it started to be a thing.
SR 104 is reasonable, but your whole argument that this system is too much to put the time into is an argument in futility. This is the system we have. This Halo has the XP to max, and the largest pool of armor and skins ever. Of course we are going to have to put in the max amount of playing time if that is what we play this game for.
You really need to play the game just to play the game. Yeah maybe we will have some double RP weekends, but I sure hope we don’t after all this time. In the life span of this game there is more XP needed for us who are still playing rather than RP needed.
The whole pay to win argument is a weak one at best. Even if you were to only play Warzone and had all the most amazing Req’s available to you you would still get destroyed by a well experienced team only using loadouts. That’s the beauty of Halo. There is no pay to win.

I not only don’t mind the req system, but I’m happy it’s in the game. It’s super similar to the system from Mass Effect 3, which I really enjoyed, and kept me playing the MP in that game for a long time. It’s the same with the req system for me. I enjoy the req grind, and I really enjoy the different armor and gun variations in the pool.
Redundancy is ok if it isn’t absolute, and each weapon has a slightly different niche, and advantageous situation. My personal opinion

Is Bronze->Silver>Gold really better than Silver->Gold? I’ve never seen that math on BSG, so i may be wrong, but dont Bronze packs give you 2 commons every 5 packs?

I believe it is too late in the game cycle to do that. Most people are going to be pushing XP (Rank 152) Not finish packs. Just work your slivers, use your boosts, and you will be done around level 135-140 and at that point you are less than 25% done with XP

So you pretty much don’t like Halo because micro transactions are extremely un-halo. You sir are in the minority.

I think you quoted the wrong guy, and I’m not sure if it’s really a minority. On topic I don’t mind microtransaction as long as there aren’t a bunch of unnecessary variants (visor, armor etc.) but I do prefer actually having to work for that armor piece you want rather than praying to RNG.

Wrong. This discussion comes up all the time and the consensus is generally slightly in favour of them.
And of the people who disagree, they almost never actually respond to the arguments being made, but just post 1-word insults or irrelevant rants and then never come back.
The people who actually read the arguments usually end up either moving to a slightly more neutral position or changing their minds entirely.
My in-game experience has been pretty much the same.
There’s nothing wrong with micro-transactions, the problem is how developers implement them: often making them useless for newcomers but essentially required to progress at higher levels.
The result is that newbies are at an automatic disadvantage from day 1 and ultimately give up on reaching the end game.
343 did the exact opposite of that.
And maybe you are new to Halo or something, but paid DLC was a disaster – either you split the population and ruin match quality, or combine the population & never see the maps come up anyway.
This lets everyone have the DLC, which keeps the population combined & the content fresh, as well as provides newbies with at least something to feel like they stand a chance but yet doesn’t really help out advanced players at all, providing incentive to keep playing rather than a constant pay wall.
