I know its been confirmed that there wont be a Halo 3 Anniversary but I have not seen Frank O’Conner or Phil Spencer ruled out the possibility PC version of Halo 3 which in my opinion would be a good alternative which not a lot of people have brought up when discussing Halo 3 Anniversary. As for how they should release I can see both sides of either releasing it as a standalone or releasing a PC version of the MCC. If they do it either way they need to release it on steam along side a Windows store version (with cross server support for both platforms) because if people claim it wont be with investing money into it then releasing it on steam would be more profitable then releasing it exclusively on the Windows store, even with valve taking 30% of every copy sold they will make more money putting it on steam. and also for a high population/ healthy community that will be around for years since games on steam sell more copies then their windows counterpart.
May be amazing, something better than ‘‘Halo Online’’
Eh, I feel like we’re way past that road. Would be nice, but I don’t see them putting their resources towards that.

Why would it be too late for a PC version? The 10th anniversary isn’t until September, they could just hire QLOC to do it since they have made really great PC Version of games on consoles (which is a developer I should have recommended to do the port at the start of the post).
Well if they released an anniversary edition, they might bring it to PC.
If they brought MCC to PC then they might have to update the xbox one version to optimize it for cross-platform play. Since MCC is badly opitmized for online play in general, I’m pretty sure they want to avoid touching the MCC code.

I could see the MCC coming to be but i’m concerned about its reputation and how what would affect the population on steam, as for cross-play it could only work it it was a dedicated playlist or if it was a search option.
This Halo Online Gameplay is the closest thing we’ll get to seeing Halo 3 come to PC. Halo Online is basically a reskinned version of Halo 3 Multiplayer with some Halo 4 weapon and skin appearances. Halo 3 is turning 10 years old this year, we won’t be seeing it on PC.
