By far the hardest gun to get a kill with in the game (excluding plasma pistol and spartan laser). I need to get the commendation so I’d figure I would save myself some time and see if anyone actually knows how to use it. I only can get a kill when somebody has their back turned and is not moving. Any tips?
It’s a different style of sniping. You need to aim for centre mass and let the beam walk up to the head. It’s very rewarding when you get good at it, but you will need to practice quite a bit. I know a few people also who have trouble with headshots, so this weapon is good for them.
The laser is one of the biggest issues, it’s very visible in certain lighting, so try to sight on a doorway, or a wall that people will come around. This way the beam isn’t visible to them before they turn the corner, then you can quickly shift aim and nail them.
Its also not a snap-shooting sniper like the others, take it slow, use it only when the area is calm and you can focus.
Aim for the heart. Not the head.

I’m also trying to finish up. On level 3 I think. If you promise not to shoot me I’ll tell you what I do. In warzone I use a scoped br or dmr to scan the field and find a victim, then quickly switch the binary and every once in a while I manage to kill them. A little back and forth wiggle motion helps a bit also. Think of it as a long range smg.
Step 1: Git gud
Step 2: Hit them
Step 3: Don’t miss.
Step 4: 360 no-scope.
You’re good to go.
I actually thought the binary wasn’t that hard to use. I guess maybe that’s why i see some people run right past it. Like others said aim for the bodies. Otherwise a tip that might be obvious don’t scope until your shots basically ready. Someone sees the beam on them you don’t have long.
I definatly agree on the spartan laser. Most time i get that and try to get a kill with it i get cut down before i can get one

Good way to practice is to find a group of friends and play Custom Games with only that weapon. Idk, maybe this will help you.

The easiest map to grind the binary, and any of the promethian weapons is btb, Antifreeze is your savior there. Lots of easy pick offs as objective based games keep your targets stupid and blind to the giant red laser following them. Though if youre only grinding it in warzone carry a weapon you are VERY comfortable with with a great scope. Pick a place to camp it out with lots of cover to duck behind and dont forget the advanced scanner mod.

I set next to a wall and aim at the wall till I see a player shoot med lvl the heart not the head
Binarys can actually be very very useful. They’re quite good against vehicles too. I don’t care for the standard binary or the legendary but that retina of the mind’s eye is the sweet spot large ammo capacity and 4 rounds per mag make it badass.
Tips would be don’t sit zoomed in with it because people will easily avoid the laser, aim center mass and don’t bother wasting a shot on someone who is about to run to cover.
The way I use it is I stay zoomed out see the person and do technical quick scopes aiming at the body

Thinking this must be sarcastic, Shotgun has a massive reticle, Binary has one of the smallest in the game…
Since the only maps it spawns on right now are Entombed and Antifreeze, play a lot of Big Team Battle so you can maximize your chances of getting it. The two passages on Antifreeze are perfect for it, since there’s blind corners people have to come around to get to the mid point. Cover the side leading to the Incineration Cannon and fry anyone who gets too close (if you can snag it on Strongholds, all the better. Aim for the Lookout and fry attackers)
When you DO actually have it, stick to areas with long sight lines, and hang way, WAYYYY back. That thing has some SERIOUS range.
Don’t zoom in until your ready to fire, that targeting beam is SERIOUSLY visible.
As mentioned before, dont try for a headshot. Its a beam, not a projectile; let the laser burn through their shields and then the rest of their body.
