So I recently watched this video about sprint and it showed how sprinting isn’t even any faster. So you can’t sprint away fights but now used for mostly mechanical mobility. Which I think is a great implementation of adding sprint into the game while adding new mobility mechanics that are coherent to each other. Keeping basic control movement and learning faster by use of map design.
Of course, I already knew this but I only know the down-ramp-slide boost. I wonder if anyone else learned anything else?
Sprinty is 9% faster, so it isn’t much faster bt it is indeed faster
The slide jump and spring jumps are the only ones I know of atm but there are a few youtube videos detailing them shyway I think has a few good ones
Maybe check out this tutorial on the “advanced slide” technique:
It was definitely a big, but a hilarious “advanced mechanic” I discovered by accident is that if you try to shoot out of sprint with a power weapon, like the Sniper I discovered it on, and then start sprinting again right before it fires, then press the fire button again it will rapidly shoot two shots.
I was really shocked when it happened, and my sniper fired two rapid fire shots. Reminded me of the BR combos in Halo 2.
The reason it can only be done with power weapons, is because normal weapons can instantly shoot out of sprint, you don’t need to draw the weapon back up first. While power weapons do force a short delay and weapon raising animation before shooting. I think the code probably registers that you are “shooting” the weapon, so when you do it again it considers it firing twice, hence the two rapid shots. I never got to play on the final map though, so I didn’t get to try it out on the Rocket launcher, and I didn’t think to test it further and see if you could save up all 4 shots from the magazine and fire a death-machinegun.
They also took down the bug report page before I reported it so… Maybe not so unfortunately, it could be in the next build. I’ll try to remember to find out and then do some testing xD.

There is a Spring Jump? I’ve asked several pros and Shyway and they all said there was no Spring Jump. I wasn’t able to do it either. Did you find a way to do it?

Maybe I’m thinking of something different or using a different term…
The example I use for spring jump comes from the map bazzar
Off spawn you sprint over the bridge to the left and then jump onto a platform and if you time it right can immediately jump again onto the platform near rockets
Seemed/felt like a spring jump, but I may be using the wrong terminology
