Anti Cheat Error

Thanks for checking that hard drive compression idea. Have you tried running the game as an administrator? Someone said that doing that fixed it for them.

This finally stopped for me (though I never had the compression checked either) but now its all fatal errors every day. No system changes.

Windows compression and running as an administrator do not work for me. I have now clue what to do as soon as I launch the game it just spams those errors in the top right corner of my game and I basically cannot play a single thing. Can’t get achievements, no multiplayer, no point in playing if nothing counts. I’ve tried to reinstall multiple times, help :frowning:

I’m having the same problem I’ve tried everything here and nothing has worked I just wanna play some halo man

343 pls fix

FYI: If I run the Xbox PC App version of MCC as an administrator, the error doesn’t seem to occur.

Bonjour Ă  tous ! Hi all !

Personnellement ça me rend fou depuis un mois.

I think I found where the problem is.

Even after comparing this file to the same in another PC, you see that they are strictly identical but it still does not work. You have reset and repaired the game multiple times and by all indicated means, erased the files to have them repaired by the store, same with Easyanticheat, reinstalled the 115GB game more than 1000 times. Personally, it’s been driving me crazy for a month. Try it, maybe it’s just that.

Windows compression must be disabled on the hard drive where Halo is installed. Right click on it, properties, uncheck “unzip this drive
”. If you still have the “anti-cheat incident” message in a loop, uninstall Halo Mcc, restart the pc and reinstall Halo from the Xbox app (or steam).

I noticed it because all my “XboxGames” folder was blue (the names) while the others are written in white. If you cannot uncheck the “unzip” box (on the HDD, folder or file concerned), it may be due to an administrator permission problem in the security settings. And good luck because I don’t know how to do it.

I’ve tried that everything already said on here hasn’t worked

How do you run the Xbox App Version as an administrator? I have MCC installed through that as well but when I right click the shortcut on my homepage and run as admin, it still gives me an error. Do you do something in the Xbox app?

I repaired first (go to Start, right click and select ‘App settings’ and then repair on the page that comes up), then each time I launchede the game, I chose to run as Administrator. Played a bunch of campaign levels on Thursday and yesterday and didn’t get any errors, whereas just repairing only seemed to work for 3 levels before I’d get the error.

Im still getting these errors too. Reinstalled MCC to a new drive and everything.

Since we’ve hit a dead end I think sending in a bug report is the best choice.

Hi guys, i have a similar issue connected to easy anticheat. When i launch the game game, it shows a window “easyanticheat not installed”. Did some one knows how to fix that???
I tried to reinstall the game, many times, tried to install manually EAC from the “easyanticheat_setup.exe”, tried to repair and reset the app. I dont know if it is only a xbox launcher issue, this is driving me crazy i sware.
Dont know if the steam version is better but i really need help please.

I know that an installer for Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) came with the Steam version. I’m glad you brought this up as re-installing EAC is a good troubleshooting idea.

In the Steam version it can be found here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection\installers

The Windows Store version might be able to be found here. I don’t own it on that platform so I can’t check personally but I’m pretty sure this is right.

C:\Program Files\ModifiableWindowsApps\HaloMCC\installers

Don’t launch it via the Xbox App. Open your Windows Start Menu, search for Halo MCC → run as administrator (right click on MCC or use the context menu). I hope this works for you.

I had this issue for weeks on windows 11. I uninstalled MCC off my PC, deleted it from the registry, restarted my PC, redownloaded from the xbox app on my PC, restarted my computer.

I have not had any issues since then. It appears it has been fixed for me this way.

I have even went as far as reinstalling windows. Nothing seems to work if you have windows 11. This is a issue with the game and needs to be addressed by the developers. I think I may go back to windows 10 and give it another try.

Thanks for the idea. Could you share the registry keys you deleted?

If y’all are getting the “mccwinstore-win64-shipping.exe” error. Adding this file path as an exemption on my anti-virus software, allowed the game to boot without having to run as admin. Maybe the anti-cheat & anti-virus software are causing conflicts when attempting to boot the game?

It’s not working :frowning: I’m trying to play

Disable windows compression !

https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-or-disable-ntfs-file-compression-in-windows-10

Windows is compressing the folder. It shows the uncompressed size but EasyAntiCheat sees the actual size. And he thinks it’s modified files. If the folder names in “XboxGames” are written in blue, they are compressed file/folders by Windows.
