Anti-Assassination lag needs to stop

Just an excuse to post another article but I’m playing SWAT right now and as always any time someone is assinating an enemy player the assassination doesn’t work and the enemy is set free. Happens all the time. Wondering if this will ever be addressed. It’s been going on for years. If you’ve ever experienced this you know what I mean and how frustrating that feels.

First off IMHO, why assassinate an enemy on SWAT when its basically a one shot kill? Also, if you however assassinate someone you’re pretty much vulnerable and most likely his teammates will stop your assassination and kill you. While I do understand your concern outside of SWAT, its pretty much lag either on your side or the enemy. If he is set free its probably because it did not register the assassination.

Have you tried a different animation? I’ve noticed that a few of them do this almost every time. Given that people have proven that H5 has a performance bottleneck and that game logic is tied to the FPS, it very well could be that certain animations lag the game just enough to cause this issue more than others.

Also, try holding down the melee button the entire time instead of letting it go once the animation starts, you just can’t trust what’s happening on your screen with the weird way that H5 handles network delay. Even if your local machine registers it as an animation initially, there’s no telling what the server eventually decides to do with that information.

By that logic, you might as well just say “why do assassination animations even exist?”
It’s just there for fun, not everything is about killing as fast as possible.

Anyway, the topic is about the lag/glitch issue, not about how you think he should play the game.

Apologies for not explaining myself right. I’m not trying to convince OP to not use assassinations, I was just asking OP why would he use assassinations on SWAT and gave my hones opinion on certain scenarios since I see he’s been at ONYX level in SWAT, not trying to tell him how to play directly. As for the issue I did mentioned that the obvious problem is lag mainly on servers but not entirely on assassinations. I had times where I legitimately back smack an enemy (assassinations off) and surprisingly survives, somehow killing me now.

A video may help what you are trying to say… I would recommend turning off the animations when playing swat. As long as most of them take it’s almost guaranteed you get killed before you complete it.

Easiest way to prevent this is to turn off the animations and just backsmack people.

This glitch often occurs near walls. I got a clip where I backsmack someone while being assassinated using this knowledge. Just don’t assassinated someone near a couple walls. The animation needs space.

If they fix it, then things like this won’t happen, lol. I say leave it alone.

I recently had this problem when i was playing doubles… The first assassination failed while the second one worked…

Happened to me many times…

I have disabled assassinations partly for this reason as well.

This has been a glitch since Reach so this is 9 years old now? It’s basically a part of Halo. In Reach it didn’t happen on such a wide scale and there was even a glitch where you stay in first person while being assassinated. I remember turning arount in first person and the enemy pulled out his knife so I meleed him then he stabbed the knife into my head and I died. I even learned in halo 5 if you have a wall to your left (I don’t know about the right) and you turn towards it while being assassinated you might be able to escape it.

Yeah, I remember in Reach it also was a thing where if your assassination got overriden by another animation, it would instantly complete it and you’d continue on, this is also a thing in H5 so it’s not like these things are that new
