Another VS Thread

Here’s another VS that popped into my mind, whilst I was playing Command and Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath last night. It is Halo related, so hold your horses. Note that this is including their sub-factions in this fight. We will say all upgrades are complete for GDI+ Scrin factions to save time. This is an all out war, not just limited to what I say here. No Halo rings and it has to be in the games or canon.

GDI+ UNSC vs Covenant+ Scrin

GDI Specs-

Ion Cannon; think of the MAC on steroids.

Advanced technology; Ion Fields capable of blocking nuclear attacks and any orbital bombardment

Strong infantry; three kinds of power armor units (Zone Troopers, Zone Raiders, and Commandos all of which are equipped with rail guns)

Starter infantry:
Riflemen Squads; six men equipped with the standard GD2 rifles+ bullet and flame resistant armor

Rocket Squads; two men specialized in the use of rocket launchers

Grenadier Squads; 4 men with grenades that use AI guided targeting

(vehicle list is too long, so here’s a highlight of the high tier units)

Mammoth Tanks; equipped with rail guns and heavy armor, these tanks can level entire cities

MARV tanks; the Mammoth Armed Reclamation Vehicle. Mammoth’s older brother on steroids.

Juggernaut; artillery walker with three cannons shooting high explosive shells

RIG; mobile battle base equipped with repair drones, rail guns, and surface to air missiles. Detects stealth

Air Vehicles-

Hammerhead; essentially the Falcon without the ability to target air vehicles. Can carry an entire squad of soldiers

Orca; fires heat seeking rockets on any ground target. Can place sensor pods or use a scanner to detect stealth

ZONE Orca; Specialized Orca used by ZOCOM, GDI’s elite forces. Fires sonic shells capable of doing massive damage to Scrin

Fire hawk: bomber capable of carrying either air to ground bombs or air to air missiles. Think about the Hawk from HW.

UNSC Specs (Finally!)-

Pre- War, they have an entire army of Spartans, fleet of ships, and the impressive MAC orbital defense grid. They, unlike their GDI friends, are capable of traveling throughout the galaxy.

The list of ship types is too long, so I’ll give a highlight here, too-

Autumn class; designed after the Pillar of Autumn. You guys know what it’s capable of if you’ve read the Fall of Reach. It’s MAC is capable of three round bursts. Two shots for a covenant ships’ shield, one to finish it off.

UNSC Infinity; part Forerunner, this ship possibly outclasses nearly every ship in the Covenant’s arsenal. Also carries smaller ships inside of it.

Frigates; standard among the UNSC’s fleet, these are the backbone for the defense and offense.

MAC platforms; known for defending Reach from 300+ Covenant ships, these things fire a huge slug of red hot or white hot metal.

Infantry-

Spartan lls; iconic for their actions in the human- covenant war, they are capable of decimating entire armies in their Mjolnir mk. l armor, and even more in mk. ll

Spartan llls; using SPI armor, advanced tactics, and their own skills, the Spartan llls are capable of destroying entire facilities guarded by hundreds of covenant. The SPI armor let’s them blend in to any surrounding.

Spartan lVs; Meh… Only a few good squads. Canonically capable of something.

ODSTs; for an unaugmented human, this is the top. Every ODST can come crashing down in an SOEIV and unleashing fury with any weapon they find.

Marines; more capable than a Spartan lV in gameplay

Vehicles;

The UNSC doesn’t have very good vehicles on the ground. There, I said it. The Hog is about the best.
You guys know the scorpion, hog, and goose variants.

Air Vehicles-

Vulture; it’s totally boss. It fires several missiles and has huge cannons on the front. This thing comes down from space, as a fire base cannot accommodate it. Capable of leveling cities, this thing was seen as too extreme against the insurrection.

Hawks; using advanced laser technology, this thing is a formidable opponent to any opponent, air or ground. A swarm of them can decimate a covenant base.

Falcons; capable of carrying a fireteam of Spartans, the Falcon has a chin turret and two fully automatic side turrets capable of facing 180°.

Hornets; using two missile launchers and two twin automatic machine guns, the craft can also accommodate two passengers who can fall off the sides to their demise.

Pelicans; transport vehicles capable of holding a dozen or so passengers. The ones found on Infinity are equipped with a chin turret, a chin laser, missiles, two side cannons, and a tank turret on the top.

Standard Pelicans are equipped with missiles and the chin turret.

Scrin;

The enigmatic Scrin lusts after the crystal substance known as Tiberium. They are capable of galactic travel, but were defeated by GDI and NOD forces. Nonetheless, they are lethal opponents.

Highlights will follow-

Infantry-

Buzzer Swarms; razed sharp, they decimate infantry instantly and clear buildings just as fast, but can’t do much else

Prodigy; capable of mind control, teleporting, and hopping like a bunny, the prodigy can control one group of soldiers at a time. Only deployed one at a time to counteract the cost.

Shock Troops; larger than a car, they can teleport into combat and fire plasma discs at their opponents.

Vehicles;

Hexapod; a six legged walker capable of carrying infantry (much like the MARV), this thing can fire plasma discs that do good damage to vehicles and infantry.

Tripod; uses a trio of laser and an energy shield. Effective against vehicles, ineffective against infantry.

Corrupter; it spits acid. That’s all I know.

Air Vehicles;

Drone Platform; essentially the Mobile Construction Vehicle for the Scrin. It uses nano bot tech to build structures.

Storm Rider; it’s like the banshee without bombs. Only one plasma cannon.

Devastator Warship; out ranges any static defense, this thing is capable of destroying swaths of infantry and vehicles with its plasma discs. Can’t hit air vehicles.

Planetary Assault Carrier; carries about a dozen Interceptor fighters, it has no onboard weapons but can summon an ion storm that increases the efficiency of its fighters and Stormriders

Covenant;

Highlights (not well versed in covenant canon, plus it’s starting to lag when I type)

Infantry-

Grunts; strength in numbers. Capable of ripping the jugular from a human. Uses plasma pistols, plasma grenades, of suicide attacks.

Elites; usually uses plasma rifles or any equivalent, equipped with energy shields. Capable of taking down a Spartan.

Brutes; stronger than elites, they eat people, and usually carry Spikers, Maulers, or medieval weapons enhanced with alien technology (gravity hammers, gravity maces, ect)

Yan’me; fragile hive mind bugs that attack in swarms with plasma pistols.

Jackals; carry plasma pistols, carbines, or beam rifles. They are excellent scouts with good senses.

Vehicles-

Ghost; single occupant vehicle with twin plasma cannons

Wraith; two occupants, one driver and one on the plasma turret. The wraith has a plasma mortar.

Scarab; capable of leveling cities, this thing has a giant mining beam and anti-air turret.

Air Vehicles-

Banshee; twin plasma cannons and a fuel rod cannon are all this thing needs to destroy. Equipped with energy shields.

Vampire; fires blamite needles and is only effective against air vehicles.
