Just got another update notice when logging into Halo 5. On every game it says in red letters “An update is available for Halo 5 Guardians. Please restart the game to begin installing.”
The exact same thing happened yesterday morning to countless folks here and yet nothing resulted from it.
Getting the exact same thing. I have reset my console a few times, loaded new games then went back to Halo 5, and still can not get the game to update. It refuses to let me play a game because it says it isn’t up to date.

I honestly just went to start the game as soon as I saw your post and it started to update. Thats it.

Gotcha, well thanks for sharing! Glad to hear people are starting to get updates. Trying my 5th reset now, hopefully it will pop for me

Just rebooted the xbox. 20%
I unplugged the power cord and plugged it back in, tried starting the game and it’s loading the update now.
Cold reboot worked. 6.2 GB update so you’d think SWAT is fixed somewhere in a file that size.
I’ve got a 120 MB download connection and the update is crawling at a glacial pace.
COULD EVERYONE PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR XBOX UNTIL MY DOWNLOAD IS FINISHED! THANKS.

What is a cold reboot?

Press/hold the power button on your Xbox until it turns off and then turn it back on. You can do the same by pulling the plug but it’s easier to just use the power button.
