Another TU thread

I don’t have much to say other than give predictions of post-TU responses. Sadly, I see the DMR getting a nerf and the BR getting a buff weapons-wise. Since so many people hated an “OP” starting gun…well you can see where I’m going. When this update is released, instead of people complaining about the DMR, the BR will take the heat as the “most OP gun”. It’s ridiculous that the majority of the fanbase will always call the dominant weapon OP.
343 could avoid this by buffing the BR and carbine while leaving the DMR alone, but again, a DMR nerf seems inevitable.

I can only hope 343 actually put thought into how each and every little change can change the entire game. I am not sure if I can trust 343 to do the right thing, or just cave in to those who:
A) Don’t understand what they are talking about and/or how it will change the game.
or
B)Whine as loud as possible because they were killed a couple times.

I don’t think the BR needs any kind of buff but I do think the DMR needs a nerf. If not then at least make it a map pick up. Like the Beam Rifle in snipers.

I’m setting my expectations low, but I take comfort in the fact that the LR is off the radar of most of the riot nerf crowd and even then I still saw hints of some wanting to nerf it as well, face desk

As long as the LR sticks around mostly intact then there is still at least something for me to stick to in Halo 4. But I am just waiting for them to come for it next once they realize that it is still better than the nostalgia rifle in every meaningful way.

The DMR did need a little nerf. Not much, a little more bloom, make it 4 shots to a shieldless Spartan’s body for a death to stress headshots. Anyone of those would do in my opinion.

The Carbine just needs to kill in 7 shots rather than 8. I think that would put it on par with the BR.

Overall, the auto-aim is pretty high on this game. Probably higher than anything, that is the main problem. So that rapid firing 5-shot-kill DMR with VERY small bloom just destroys in the hands of even average players.

I also think the plasma pistol needs reduced locking on vehicles and inxreased on players and players should only start with sticky nades

I just hope that they don’t nerf the DMR or buff the BR i think they are ok as they are.

I’m not sure why people are disappointed to not see descope in TU. 343 built the whole game around flinch, so I don’t see them getting rid of it. They really mean it when they say they want this to be their halo, aka ax the good mechanics that were already in place.

Maybe next game.

Of course the fans would call the “dominant” weapons OP! Can you not see what you’re saying?

The very fact that a weapon in the loadout is dominant makes it OP!
What is the point of using any of the other weapons if it just reduces your chances of doing well?

Can I ask what offends you so much about the idea of the DMR being nerfed a bit?

As long as they balance it well with the other weapons, it would mean that people who would like to use other weapons could do so without being at a disadvantage, it wouldn’t be forcing you to stop using the DMR.

Good to see a few things change like having our old X-marker back, and weapon adjustments.

But what about Sprint disabling? Can this be added to customs, or be done in MM such that we can save the playlist settings for customs? There was no mention of that, and it frustrated me.

Also weapon de-scoping, is there going to be a TU for it? Saddened once more by not hearing about this.

No TU for some settings like 1-flag? Where is that? How about vehicle health like the chain warthog? Banshee (A sniper should never be able to destroy a vehicle)? etc, etc, etc…

I’m happy for the few changes mentioned, but we need other critical changes to be made.

The Plasma pistol is already nerfed by the craptacular Lag that is Halo 4.

Unless your facing the vehicle from the front or completely stationary, the “locked” (ie. red hud indicator) means absolutely nothing because like Grenades or heavy weapons, it will be 1 to 5 seconds before it even appears after you pull the trigger.
