I know they say it has been 5 years or that is what the Studio Director on the E3 video said and I also heard 4 years on an interview with 343, but I saw this a while back and decided to post it for anyone who hasn’t noticed it.
It is a screen shot of the campaign on board the Forward Unto Dawn.
I circled it in green and it has a date that to me says 3 Years,4 Months and maybe 30 or 50 Days. It also says Last Contact with ??? So maybe it is Last Contact with UNSC or Last Contact with Life.

He’s talking about the timeline, in the live action trailer before the campaign walktrough we’re told that the Infinity is finished 5 years after the end of the war, and that’s when it’s absorbed into Requiem. I think he’s wondering when Master Chief is absorbed too and how many time passed since the last contact… But seriously? where can you see that? “3 Years,4 Months and maybe 30 or 50 Days”… I can’t read anything like that lol

You have to go to the Halo4 home page and look at their screen shot because it is larger. You can’t directly download it so I took a screen shot of it but before I did that I used my browser to zoom in 2 times.
I posted mine so you can see where to look, I know it is hard to see. Maybe I can try to enlarge it.
I work on a nice apple screen and it is big and I can see it.
At first I thought it probably said 5 years but that is longer than the lady at 343 said it was and it really looks like a 3 to me. I tried to alter the colors and stuff to see more but it did not help.

It is there so don’t think it is not. I also figured I will finally see when I get to play the game but I wonder if that was real or made to make people wonder.
If you can’t read it, zoom in using your browser or alter your resolution before you say where did I see it or that you can’t see it.

If that computer says 3 Years and I am just wondering could that mean that Cortana already had contact with them but never told the MC or maybe that is a hint that they sent the Infinity because they were coming looking for him.
No-one really knows the story of the game in full so just throwing that out there.
We know the Infinity was commissioned for peace but they never said why it was at the planet and maybe it was there to get the MC and I am only saying that if the screen says 3 Years.
Well … Forgive my initial skepticism (and my spell if wrong, I’m Spanish) I can see your point and now the date of the picture too. I think you guessed right with the date of the screen and this is calling my attention, it’s very strange.
Mostly because you say that the image comes from when the Master Chief is still aboard the UNSC ship Forward Unto Dawn. But the hologram of the ship that we see in the picture does not fit with the shape of the Forward Unto Dawn if i’m not wrong, does it? That large rear engine it’s more like the Infinity ones… What do you think?
Perhaps this picture comes from another point of the campaign. May the Master Chief be aboard the Infinity and be seeing one of its screens? Perhaps you are right in what you say and the Infinity has other intentions other than those we know … What if this last contact is between the UNSC and other entity? Perhaps with the Forerunners or the Didact … lol just speculating.
After scouring the internet looking for pix of ships I have to say that it indeed does not look like the Forward Unto Dawn.
I will also add that after checking the video and all the photos I could the engines do not really match the Infinity either unless that diagram is upside down.
The Infinity has 2 small outside engines with one large one in the middle. The 2 small ones are to the outsides while the large one sits centered in the back.
The diagram appears to have 2 round engine exhausts close together.
Of course once we play the game it will become clear what ship it is but I would say yes it looks more like the Infinity yet not exactly like it.
I hope it is something unknown to us haha. I love all this stuff, makes me think even if too much.
If it is the Infinity the date could not mean how long since they talked to the UNSC since I am sure they talked too them up to this event.
Great mystery though with that date. I wonder what it is or why it is at that amount of time.

Maybe Chief is on Requiem longer than we though before Infinity arrives.
Ok after a week or so of poking around I am ready to say that the hologram is not the Infinity. It just doesn’t match up to the rear of that ship.
It does say Catastrophic Loss on the Ships Status which is not true of the Infinity at least at this point. Again no image I can find of the Infinity matches this hologram.
I can only assume this is just a hologram of the Forward Unto Dawn but one that is a remastered ship just like everything else in the game. I mean nothing we see will resemble what we are used to seeing save the Machine Gun is close so why couldn’t the redo to Dawn just as well.
If not the Dawn then I have no idea. If the Dawn the dates are not consistent with the story so this is going to be exciting to find out.
That says five years, not three.
I also noticed it is in a group of 10 Screen shots all from the first mission so it has to be a hologram of the Dawn.
I was not 100% it says 5 not 3. That was my main question.
It looks more like a 3 but they said the MC was out for 4 or 5 years so I would hope it is a 5. If it is a 3 then something else is going on they are not saying.
Again it should be a 5 but one could argue it looks to be a 3.
If you look at the word months the S in months looks more like a 5 but the 5 for years looks more like a 3. It should be similar since an S and a 5 are close but they don’t even look similar.
AGAIN we know they said 5 but that looks more like a 3. Just too fuzzy.
It looks to be right at the start of the game at the end of the Cryotube Hallway. You can see an orange thing in that old leaked screen shot.
