Halo 4 will need to have a major climax to keep players in the series, especially the next game (story wise). Since the game will be in a trilogy, the most likely event that will happen is a major climax at the end. This will make players want to play the next game.
Usually in trilogies, the first installation(lol)will end with the player rise to power, or to a goal, then fall lower than they have ever fell before. The second installation will let them rise with a greater power to defeat the true evil, and then the third installation is finishing the fight.
With that said, something tragic is bound to happen. It will make the chief fall so low, physically and mentally. Something that will brake him to show his true strength. to over come the impossible challenges that await. There are many possibilities, so i want to hear what you, the community will think.
Personally, for me there are 2 options.
Chief will be forced to kill cortana, for the greater good.
or for those familiar with the books, he is reunited with his old team. Then one or all of them dies. Preferably Linda.
Discuss.
You mean you don’t like Linda?
These theories sound good. 343’s said they’re going to be delving into the Chief’s relationship with Cortana, and I can’t wait to see how good they make it.
If any of blue team dies, I doubt it would be as early as the first game.

lol no, i mean she was very close to chiefy. If she dies, you can expect chiefy to go rampant
I bet you, the Chief will destroy the shield world, some main character will die, and the new threat will be unleashed half way through the game.
It is going to be similar to Halo CE.
im expecting cortana to kill master cheif when she goes rampant. i think that would be a good ending. or the cheif dies by cortana right when cortana is about to die cuz the cheif injured her severely

They cant end Halo 4 with chief dying, they need 2 more games with him =/
Never mind, i did ask for everyones opinion…

blah my bad, haha but it would be good in halo 6
Usually in the SECOND installment of a trilogy you fall lower than ever before and have a tremendous tragedy occur that you will solve once and for all in the THIRD installment. CE ended with “nothing but dust and echoes” and Cortana blabbering about their mission being finished. Of course, Chief thought otherwise because there WAS gonna be a sequel but you completed your task, the player was left content/satisfied with their accomplishment. Halo 2 was easily the most tragic/sad/dark of the trilogy.
So, in Halo 5 we should see this happen. Of course, the key word is “SHOULD”. We have no idea of what’s going to happen.

Upon further investigation of your post I have concluded that master cheif should have a major 0RG4SM at the end.

Would you mind explaining that one? I just don’t see it.

Halo Reach was easily the most dark and sad story in the series.
Halo 2 was the most adventurous, many places, many threats, many goals, and a big cliffhanger in the middle of a Forerunner Keyship.
