It’s quite long but very informative, addresses many issues that are being discussed on here…but also addresses core issues in the game that people don’t even recognise:

I had quite a few “WTF?! OMG!” moments whilst watching this and it makes perfect sense…from the core infrastructure at the heart of the game, missing content and features, map design, weapon sandbox issues…and there may even be some crossover into the controller vs M&K accuracy debate if you watch and pay attention to the section regarding weapons.
Anyways…this is very informative and important viewing so put the kettle on, make a brew and watch.
Side note: I think 343i should actually employ this guy full time as a consultant.
I wish my experience with the game had that fluidity, precision and lethality that is shown in this video (very interesting). My experience is that my spartan looks like he’s hungover, never gets to melee and his shots go nowhere only to die on the first shot. I also notice in the video an aim assist that I don’t have. I wish Halo Infinite worked that well for everyone and not in such a shaky and erratic way.
The author focuses above all on the modes and content and is right if they want Halo to have a certain permanence over time. But if the serious problems of servers, lag, desync, rankings and matchmaking are not solved, I think everything will be useless. Thanks for the link.
Watch it later when you have more time…it’s worth a watch, and may even change a few engrained opinions of a few people on here. It’s very enlightening and educational so make time and take time to watch it.
A lot of interesting input for sure. What I dislike though is his way of putting everything as “his point of view” and everything else being billed as “the wrong point of view”. One example is the rather obvious mention of the “one weapon game”. Avoiding this issue most likely is what led them down the “effective range” design of the weapons. And whether one or the other problem is the preferrable one very much is a thing up for debate.
As for the whole defending the game issue. There are obvious issues and I actually see very few people dismiss them out of hand. However it’s a bit strange to throw all of it into one pot. For example eople are not saying “it’s free to play” in response to there being no forge at launch. It’s a response to why not everything is earnable the same way it was in previous titles and why there is a store.
As for the state and the content the game launched with. It was never designed to launch barebones (as it is kinda implied). That was a result of the internal issues they had. That’s not a defense - it’s merely what happened. And quite obviously even a year extra over what was originally planned didn’t suffice to fix it. And as we can see it would not have been a short second postponement to get everything in order either.
Overall a worthwhile watch and a few very important pointers to 343 as well (e.g. how the flexibility of custom games combined with forge come together to allow people to create something much more than what was originally designed). Thank you for sharing (I had the video pop up in my YouTube recommendations but wouldn’t have watched it without it being mentioned here).
I don’t know what you mean. I have every reason not to believe you. You’ve provided no evidence to assert your claim. I won’t just take your word at face value.
Burden of proof is the responsibility of an individual or party to prove an assertion or claim that they have made.
