This type of thing Would be awesome to put into halo multiplayer.
I played Section 8 for a while when it first came out, and although it looks cool, it gets annoying very fast.
In a fast paced game such as Halo this simply wouldn’t work, it is all about receiving your short penalty for dying then spawning straight back in the action. That whole drop thing takes like 20 seconds.
I’m still a fan of spawning down on the map, and I don’t think its likely to change. Although I will admit it would have potential in a BTB game of Dominion…
Maybe for the FIRST spawn or something but that’s it. It would get annoying and take too long if it was every spawn. You would have to drop in a drop pod so you couldn’t control it and it could only be used on outside maps.
I have played a lot of Section 8. I’m a lv 100 (max rank) on the original and Prejudice. It does get old if you are dying a lot and if you can see where the person is landing you will die very fast. I did this a lot to people. So take it from someone who has played it a lot. It wouldn’t be a good idea for Halo.
Badass at first, annoying later. Especially when a control point is being taken and youi need to get there fast.

I have been in those situations and that’s when people don’t think. They just fly in and get blown away by the AA fire. Most people don’t play very smart on the game.
I’ve always thought that it’d be super awesome to be dropped in a Pelican as a whole team, or Phantom depending on what race you are. Something like, the intro to The Silent Cartographer on Halo: CE, being able to look around at your whole team, some standing up and some sitting down. Even ODST drop pods could be super awesome!
I actually thought that in Halo: Reach, for invasion we’d be getting dropped in by Pelicans/Phantoms but it never happened </3
wouldn’t really work but something like an odst drop would be epic, crash and blow the door off, that -Yoink- is so epic.
i think a spartan ops mission should start like this, you drop in with an ODST drop pod with your spartan team and other ODSTs and crash right into the action. the door blows off an you’ll be right in the middle of a firefight between the covenant and the prometheans, bullets flying everywhere.
