This would mainly come to play during Customs, or maybe certain MM gametypes but here is the idea:
Shot Pods!
Not drop pods, but similar, and they can be used the exact same. Here is how they work.
First of all they function like a vehicle, you enter it the same way you would enter a vehicle, the difference is when you enter the only thing you can to is aim a reticle . . . well what does this reticle do?
In whatever direction you aim the pod, and you press the trigger, a large blast will sound behind you, and you will shoot (along with the pod) in the direction you aimed and fly in an arc until you hit the ground, safely. I would give the shooting distance about three, four maybe more times the shooting distance of a Man Cannon.
Not only could these act as drop pods, they can make really cool ways to travel. I basically took this idea from the APC’s in Battlefield 2142 where you can shoot yourself on top of a titan, but the idea is still cool.
*Imagine a Griffball game where you start a good distance away from the playing field, and you have to shoot yourself onto the board to play.
What do you guys think? Sound cool?

Damn serr, this does sound cool. Way to invent something new. Would they collide with and destroy aircraft? The front of the pod could be adorned with a giant vehicle-sized bayonet. Makes for a cool landing, and a hella deadly flight-path.

Ya, the impact could easily kill a vehicle, the kill would be worthy because of the insane amount of luck or skill you would need to attempt to hit or land on a vehicle.
Think of it like trying to phase an object through a vehicle, it crushes and blows the thing up.

Just a fun suggestion to throw around. I didn’t intend for this thread to get to serious, but your right, if a thread isn’t about AA’s or a BR it usually doesn’t get more than a page of life.

It shows our concern for Halo 4 being a good game after a disappointing 2 years with Reach.

While your right, those same threads are beat to death constantly. I used to see at least three AL threads a day on beta forums. I’m sure 343i knows what these problems are and is working to give players a better experience, both on Reach and when Halo 4 comes out.
5 billion threads about the Battle Rifle, or Armor Abilities aren’t going to be any more effective than 5 in which a lot of people comment and agree.
Kinda why I started these “fun ideas” discussion. I’m not entirely serious about them, but most of the ideas seem harmless and fun.
