RE: Scripting-
So, we have lots of options for triggering scripts:
Timers, On Interaction, on Move/disturb, on Spawn, on Match Start…
But if I want a Star Trek / grocery store style door that opens as you approach it, and closes behind you after you walk in, the only way to currently do that is with some wonky workaround using invisible blocks set to normal that need to be ‘tripped over’ by the player in order to trigger the script, then they must be all scripted to reset themselves after they get disturbed, etc.
So, why can we not just have a script called “On Enter”, then just set the radius of effect, as you would a KOTH Hill, etc., ( as well as “On Exit”) which can then have an Action applied?
Such as “On Enter_Action: Move Offset Horizontal -60”
and then “On Exit__Reset Position”.
It seems like such a Staple Function and is such a surprise that it’s not included…I think we even had this option on MCC, if memory serves.
Am I alone here?
no your not alone, a lot of people have been asking for pressure plates/trigger areas/whatever.
I think you can do that since we have areas that only certain teams can enter and I think with some scripting you can make it so when you walk into the area it will send the message to the door to open
Tom French confirmed on Twitter a few months ago that they are working on proximity triggers. Hopefully they will arrive soon. I guess they will focus on trait zones after that.

Sorry to re-route the topic, but didn’t Tom French also say they were working on an in game file browser that would allow people to create “Assets” which could be saved, named, and put in File Share for sharing individual assets, and not entire maps? I’ve been waiting eagerly for this since I first heard of it, and not only has it not materialized, but I haven’t even really heard mention of it since then…
I feel like they have a big list of things they WANT to include, and I fear that not everything on the list is going to make the cut.
Heck: he even Tweeted that a remake of Reach’s “Forge World” was on the list…but now that the “Memories of Reach” Update has dropped…without a Forge World remake…I fear that we will not be getting that either…which makes me wonder what else we have been teased with that isn’t gonna make the final cut…

“Assets” = “Pre-fabs”. They only mentioned it a few months ago because something about it leaked out. Considering we only have 2 planned updates left I’m assuming it will be in one of those along with the in-game file browser. I’m glad you enjoy my content! Keep an eye out for a big infection minigame I’m working on. I should have a beta soon, then the final should be ready in a week or two.
