Another Ban Question!

Is the banning thing actually legal? I haven’t been banned myself yet but have seen so many posts from people saying they’d been banned for one reason or another.

If they are using the multi-player element of the game as one of the selling points to entice people in and buy the game but then put things in place that prevent you from playing it, is it then legal to then ban people for however long the Ban Hammer is in place?

Myself the main reason for buying Halo 5 is to play the multi-player part of the game and then(If i’d been banned) for someone to tell me you can’t dosen’t sit right with me.

Isn’t the idea of buying a game to be able to play it whenever you want? After all you’ve paid for a full game and not a game you can only play parts of when 343i say you can?

Not really bothered but am interested if anyone knows the answer

It’s perfectly legal to do so. When you buy the game what you’re actually doing is buying a license to play it, installing and playing means that you accept to abide by the terms laid out by the games creators (and by Xbox Live as you’re using those services too). If we didn’t have terms of service then anyone would be free to do whatever they wanted without consequence, so policies are put in place to stop that.

If someone is habitually quitting, trolling or harassing others, etc. in game then yes I believe the should be punished and not be allowed to play for a short time. There is more information in the Xbox Live ToS and in the Code of Conduct.

TL;DR: Don’t break the rules and you don’t get banned

I knew someone would know the answer and set my mind at rest. Thanks
