Another 20gigs day one Patch

MCC was horible till April 2015 lets hope that H5G works good from day 1.
MCC is now about 70 Gigs and in my opinion this is to much… way to much

Yes because 70 Gigs is too much for four games (five if you include ODST and both anniversary together).

There is no “HOPE it works day one”
I will always support Halo and be avid player no matter what. But for the sake of the Halo universe and franchise, Halo 5 NEEDS to work flawlessly from day one. i fear if it doesnt a lot of people will give up on 343i and Halo with it. i will not leave this historic franchise no matter the condition of launch, but there are too many people who will jump ship.

It will not work flawlessly from day one. There will be issues, someone somewhere will experience problems; that’s just the nature of technology and product launches.

As for the 20Gb day one patch, that was the rest of the content they couldn’t fit onto one disc

This is the part a lot of people tend to forget or overlook. Sure there may have been a few extra fixes thrown in there, but the 20 gig download was primarily for the mutiplayer and campaign content that theye don’t have space for on the disc.

62.74 GB according to the store atm, would only hit 70 if you have ODST on top of that

i know it wont be flawless, all new games (Cod, Evolve, Battlefield etc.) have day one connectivity/ server issues, thats a given it has to be fixed within the week. It cant be anything close to the launch of MCC.

Without defending the launch, Halo 5 isn’t 4 games with 5 different MP engines/codes and 6 campaign engines/codes and doesn’t have about 6 development studios working on different aspects; all trying to be brought under 1 roof.
Now this doesn’t guarantee Halo 5’s launch will be perfectly smooth, I just don’t see the 2 as comparable. Comparisons to Battlefield, Assasins Creed and GTA V are perfectly valid and those releases make me nervous about Halo 5’s

Any issues H5 may have absolutely must be minor individual cases rather than a large common issue.

As quick as they may fix it, it would instantly get jumped on as if it has anything to do with the MCC launch.`

You so know that most patches rewrite existing code right? Some do add code but its not going to be 20 gigs worth. They normal just patch existing code but may add a few gigs or so. Depends on how much is needed to update at launch.

I agree with you. If it’s not flawless a lot of players will jump ship and go play CoD or something.

I know 343i does stress testing on servers, but how do you emulate millions of users online at once? I’m not trolling this is a serious question, how do you stress test for a game release on that scale?

usually by betas but since 343i isnt doing another beta i have no idea how they will

Came in expecting Halo 5. Leaving knewing I should’ve expected this to be a MCC thread.

how is this a MCC thread???

Well 343i is learning from that mistake. Plus I mean this game is way bigger than the MCC. The way they tested it and the team setups are just small examples of how different they are and I am sure Halo 5 will be great.

The bulk of the OP is complaining about MCC’s memory. vs some expectation of there being an announcement for a 20gb day one update

… they already did a beta.

Don’t Hate 343 for MCC…Certain Affinity created the multiplayer for mcc. 343 created Halo 2 Anniversary’s campaign.

thats literally what i just said…

I can’t imagine what they could possibly need 20 gigs for in a day one patch. Even if they do get BTB up and running immediately, there’s no way in hell they need that much space for the maps.

Right?
