I mean seriously, 343 finally gives us something close to Elite armor…and we have to both own Halo MCC AND complete ALL campaigns on Legendary, including the infamous Halo 2 Legendary. I hope thats not the only Elite based armor in the game, cause that be a slap to the face. It would have been better if all you had to do is buy Halo MCC and the armor would be unlocked.
I did it, its not as hard as u think
Beating all the campaigns on legendary is not an impossible task. If you are truly having that much trouble, invite me to a lobby and I’ll give you a hand.

I dont own Xbox One or Halo MCC (I never planned on getting MCC, might get Halo 5 when i get a Xbox One). However, i would like some help with Legendary on 3, ODST, Reach, and 4 (as well as skull help on CEA) on 360…but no one seems to play those games anymore.
And yes, the Halo 1, 3, and 4 are relatively simple to beat on Legendary co-op. But not Halo 2.
It defeats the purpose of having an exclusive armor if you just give it everyone, ala Recon. I’m sorry it’s proving difficult for you to acquire, but that’s the point of it.
I don’t think a Halo game should have difficult armor unlocks, but I like that one of them is unlocked by completing ALL MCC missions on legendary.

Hayabusa was intended to be “difficult,” but Bungie underestimated the resolve of players reading the code.

True, but why make it so hard to get? I prefered the Credits system (for unlocking armor, not for rank) from Halo Reach. Plus, making “exclusive armors” prevents the player from investing into their Spartan creation, because I bet if all armor was unlocked from the begining not as many people would have worn Recon, it would just be another armor. Only people who liked the design of Recon would wear it.
The only hard campaigns are H1 and H2 on legendary. H3 and H4 are pretty easy (atleast compared with h1/h2). I only have like 7 more missions on H1, and I’ll have it all done. I think it is fair to reward players who completed all the campaigns on legendary with something in H5 (its a lot of effort and should be rewarded in some fashion).

It’s really not that hard. But you need to do it on Halo MCC and Xbox one. I’ve solo’d most of Halo 2 on Legendary. Finished Halo 4 solo as well. Halo 1 and 3 I did co-op because my friends wanted to play with me.
If you’re not even going to get Halo 5 (you said might) then why are you all bothered that you have to play Legendary to get this armor? When you decide you want Halo 5, get an xbox one, it comes with Halo: MCC for free bundled in, and then complete the campaigns. I’m sure plenty of people will offer to help (as they already have in this thread).

Halo 2 is indeed difficult to beat on Legendary, solo or cooperative. I, personally, see no difference in the two. If you die in solo, you reset to your last checkpoint, you die in co-op, the result is the same. It’s just a matter of both players knowing their stuff and not performing actions that would result in an unfortunate death.
If you ever happen to get the MCC, I will be more than willing to help you with any campaign, just let me know.

Ugh. Hyabusa.
OT: I’d rather have to beat every campaign on legendary for some armor than have to grind for days just to unlock an emblem I’ve used in Halo FOR YEARS. coughHalo4Cough --seriously, wth!?!

It’s just the nature of gaming today, there will always be exclusive armors that are “difficult” for most people to achieve. Reach’s credit system is an RPG-style rank system that rewards those that play more than others, which can be used for some armors, but I like having both available.
It is more time-consuming than hard.
When i said i might get Halo 5, i mean im gonna wait until after people have played it. I dont plan on getting Xbox One or Halo 5 until I know Halo 5 will be good. And i wont get Halo MCC until it is fixed.
I just hope not ALL armors in Halo 5 have to use achievements to unlock. Well, atleast the Legend achievment is straight forward and can be completed at any time. I really dont like armor that is unlocked by multiplayer achievments, because if you wait too long, you wont be able to get that armor because no one plays that game anymore.
Legendary campaigns are easy to do if you get into it… First time I played Halo 2A legendary I thought I won’t be able to do it, but now I got trough it on Laso (still three games to complete😃)
All four games play different, so play them on normal or heroic first to practice a bit and when you feel like you got into the game try legendary…
Tips for Halo 2A:
- Keep the beam rifle close to kill those jackal snipers
- The carbine is your best friend against brutes
- Sit out the battles between the AI and wipe out the winner
- If there are allies with you equip them with power weapons (especially elites with swords against the flood)
- Keep your distance to snipe your enemies (if you stay in a certain distance the AI won’t attack you)
Have fun😊
but thats what makes it better of an armor to unlock… i’m 50% done with this achivement. currently on halo 2 metropolis. not as bad as you think though either.
unfortunately it somewhat makes sense for it to be a hard armor to unlock
but to be fair they should have more unlocks available
