Since the multiplayer “war-games” in Halo 5 take place on the UNSC Infinity, does that mean that all the announcer’s also live on the infinity? The sample dialogue from Buck mentions sitting in a "booth: to spectate and commentate the war-games, which would suggest that they are physically present for each training session. This would mean that all the announcers would likely be living on the Infinity so as to be available for commentary. Anyone else ever wonder about how a seemingly random grunt got onto humanity’s flagship crewed by only “Humanity’s best and brightest”? Why isn’t Buck galavanting accross the Galaxy with Blue Team, the Arbiter, and Fireteam Osiris? What about Exuberant Witness, who apparently abandoned her installation to observe spartan training events? What about the original Halo announcer, Mr. Steitzer, who is currently living in the 21st century? So some random grunt, a veteran spartan, a forerunner AI, and an immortal/time-traveling Jeff Steitzer all walk into a commentator’s booth. Sounds like the start of a convoluted joke, or the pitch for a new sitcom to me
I believe that the grunt got onto infinity by being part of the Swords of Sanghelios. He somehow sneaked in and got into the announcers chair while the real announcer was taking a piss break. When he came back, he just let the little grunt keep on talking.
For Exuberant Witness, maybe she wanted more information on the spartan training program. I believe she says something along the lines of “This will be a great way to gain some data on spartan training! How exciting!” or something like that, can’t really remember. So she is probably just trying to gain some info on how exactly spartan’s are trained, and she volunteered to voice the action.
Buck is probably taking a little time off from the fighting and choosing to partake in the spartan training program as an announcer. Not much to explain here.
And Jeff Steitzer is great friends with Doc Brown, so it may not be as crazy as to think that he traveled to 2558 to announce the spartan training program.

A Back to the Future and Halo crossover would be great! Marty McFly, Doc Brown, Chief, Blue Team, and the Arbiter could go back in time and stop Cortana from becoming the new Skynet.

Yes, I didn’t think you would get that.
And yes, that would be epic. “Cortana! I have to tell you about the future!”

Speaking of Back to the Future, Cortana’s hostile takeover of the galaxy reminds me of Bif ending up as the despotic ruler of Hill Valley.

A real chin-scratcher indeed.
Voices of War isn’t canon. It’s just pure fanservice and opportunity to make money.
