Announcer talking too much

I wonder if this is some thing we can turn off. The first few times it’s funny. It gets old very quick. “how tragic… For them” yeah I hope I can turn this off.

They noted this feedback in the feedback blog from the first flight.

I wouldn’t expect anything major for launch but it’s possible post launch you’ll be able to customise your AI’s dialogue a bit more to your liking.

I really dislike the personal AIs. I had no problems with the voice overs in Halo 5. I even like all of the DLC ones: the grunt, Exuberant Witness, and Buck.

However, for some reason, the AI quips in Infinite are annoying and stupid to me. They’re way too frequent and the their writing is cringe-worthy. Also narratively, it doesn’t make sense for the UNSC to develop and equip their Spartans with a bunch of quirky AIs, especially ones that have weird personality affects, like the one that’s nervous and scared all the time or whatever. It just seems stupid.

And also, smart AIs (the ones that do develop their own personalities and such) in the Halo universe are supposed to be somewhat special and uncommon, not handed out like candy. You could argue that the AIs seen in Infinite multiplayer are not actually smart AIs like Cortina, Serena, Roland, etc, but then that just circles back to my previous complaint. That would mean they are “dumb” AIs purposefully programmed with these idiotic personalities. Why would the military develop such AIs? What purpose would they serve?

Also, I still can’t get over the fact that Delmar from O Brother, Where Art Thou? is a Spartan in multiplayer. Whenever I hear him say “over yonder” or a few other choice lines, it just really takes me out of the game for a second, haha

I actually didn’t notice this too much, I must have picked one that doesn’t talk too much.

Yeah, if we can turn it off, at least jar the funny remarks, that would be great.

I wouldn’t mind the AI’s so much if they weren’t silly/goofy and weren’t basic shapes. Some of the info they give is good, when they tell you enemy player is below you. I try to tune them out though. I can’t take a single one seriously, and their commentary is…bland.

I didn’t even know you could change the voice. But yes I got over mine very quickly…happy with just the good ol “double kill” announcements.

Exactly. Double kill, flag taken, etc… That’s all I rant to hear in game personally.
