Xbox posted a tease on its Instagram story, featuring Master Chief and the caption, “Tomorrow, we bring a dream to life.” Potentially a big announcement or update of some kind?
Isn’t tomorrow just the day when the master chief skin gets added to that childrens game fortnight?!

It might be but I haven’t seen a release date for that.

The proportions and details of the armor are different from the Halo Infinite reveal. It would fit the Fortnite skeleton model and hit-box though. Also the skin itself is was already confirmed by the news-outlets, hence why my mind went directly to that. IMHO it’s just the Chief skin, just really high-res for the teaser.

And they used a different model in the Microsoft holiday ad too, doesn’t really mean anything. The color and texture of it looks different to me. Besides, why would they tease a fortnite skin like it’s some big announcement.
That Chief model seems to have much more detail than the one found in the Fortnite game files. I wouldn’t dismiss the possibility of this being a tease for the ‘high level update’ so easily. I could be totally wrong, though.

True …but the add model still retains the bulk of the game version. Why wouldn’t MS use that model like they did for all the promotional stuff than? It can’t be the series either, because that’s it’s own thing set in a different universe, so the armor wouldn’t look like a carbon copy of Halo Infinite. So it’s not Hi the game, it’s not the TV show either, what else could it be? The colors are off here, sure, but the lighting of the shot might have something to do with it. It’s also not the first time we got a high res version with more detailed textures of a FN character prior to release and again: this proportions seems to fit the game made by Epic. Not to mention MS over-hypes their yoink all the freaking time!
TLDR, don’t get your hopes up. It’s almost certainly FN ma mates!

You’re probably right I just don’t want to believe you lol. We haven’t gotten anything substantial in ages.
It might be related to some sort of high tech VR/AR chip being worked on. You see the girl with the chip on her skull? I think developer Ninja Theory, another subsidiary of Xbox Game Studios, has a role to play in its development. You can google Project Dreadnought and read about it.
Well, I’ll be surprised if it’s anything even semi-significant and if for some reason it is then 343I/MS have done a BRUTAL job in telling us (their fans and the public) about this. Hence why I don’t think this is anything significant. I suspect the next and any significant news to come right from the mouth of 343I, right here at waypoint on their community updates.
I think it’s more likely an Xbox ad than a Halo ad. But we don’t have long to find out, do we?
We most likely wont be getting anything exciting or new. It seems like 343 loves to keep everything under wraps much to their own detriment.
I wasn’t aware that the Instagram Story was a video. After watching it, I don’t expect this to be a major update for Infinite in the slightest. The focus of the video is on dreams, with only a few shots showcasing Chief. This falls in line with a more Series X/S-centered event. Keep your Halo expectations tempered, everyone.
As with all of their announcements as of late, I’d imagine it will revolve around a corporate sponsorship/partnership.

For anyone who missed it, it was the power you dreams trailer for Xbox directed by Taika Waititi.
DJ chief was pretty dope, but overall the focus of Microsoft products in dreams seems a little dystopian.
Well then, that was disappointing. Cant say I’m too surprised though.
…just an ad. Our dreams come true…literally. That’s one huge announcement we haven’t seen before
