Anniversary Throwback Ruined

Anniversary Throwback is run exclusively by one 4 stack that plays ~19 hours a day and wins every game 50 to less than 10. Why is this playlist not enforced to have a maximum sized team of 2 like Quick Play is?

I don’t believe party size is the issue and this problem isn’t really unique to Anniversary Throwback. The problem is population (particularly within similar skill ranges) paired with the fact that the automated parameter settings attempt to find anyone and any Fireteam a match regardless of the Team-to-Team balance. That means that any stacked team is likely to get lots of easy to win matches when there are not enough similarly skilled opponents.

Hope their searches in between matches end up being a little more lengthy on average in order to prevent facing the same opponents time and time again, but realistically I assume that they will end up matching many of the same opponents within a play session.

Yep, happens to me all the time dude. Anni was pretty bad with it too. Hopefully Roaming King isn’t the same, the worst part is when the stacked teams are 152’s, it’s like what’s the point in playing the game at that point?

I actually think the four player Fireteam stacking is part of the problem. This team knows that anyone playing the featured Anniversary playlist is likely very casual, not using a mic, and likely queueing alone just to see what’s going on. They are playing it like Champ level Arena and it is directly playing in to the population problem of that playlist. Any player that queues that three times, and gets that team two times in a row (I queue’d 4 with a 3 minute delay to avoid and got them 4 times in a row) is never going to queue that playlist again. There is no reason for any social playlist to allow more than a fireteam of two. If you want to run with four play ranked like everyone else.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with people playing the game after 152, especially if it’s what they enjoy. My problem is when it’s evidently clear they’re four stacking Social playlists to pad stats. These guys I’m referring to haven’t played ANYTHING other than the featured Arena playlist in years. They’re un-ranked in all Arena playlists for years now. They simply want to stomp casuals and pad stats. Very lame.

How many games did you play? I checked your history and saw 2 games in that playlist. I don’t believe that is proof. I don’t condone stat padding but if they’re playing Slayer is it really stat padding? Now if they are playing objective and score once and slay the rest of the game then that’s different. People should be able to play with their friends online.

I played 2 games and had a vastly different experience. I lost both games 42-50 and 49-50.

Check the teams I played against and then check their match history

Edit: And on the third I quit build when I seen all of their logos again.

Anniiversary; the one account I checked seemed to be a brand new account made just to play this playlist.

Check the others.

Nah, it’s not necessary to punish all the average-ish players who enjoy playing with a full team of friends in order to restrict stacked teams from causing unbalanced matches.

Ideally there would be enough population throughout the skill spectrum to create fairly balanced matches, but absent that a better solution IMO is for the matchmaker to have its balance limits not go beyond a certain amount; meaning, some stacked teams won’t be able find matches and if they’re interested in playing the mode they’ll have to elect to break up their Fireteam instead of being forced.

That is exactly how they do Quick Play though. But I suppose I understand why Featured Playlists aren’t like that because they are limited.

I got to 152 over 2 years ago, but I still play because I enjoy the game.

If you don’t want to get steamrolled by a full team, you can always follow the tried and true method of playing with a team of your own. A full team always has an advantage over a team of random players. Communication is key.

Eh, should have probably phrased it better then, apologies for that, if you’re one of those guys that does enjoy the game even after getting max rank, more power to ya man. It’s just stacked teams and ESPECIALLY toxic stacked teams that really grind my gears. Full team’s are always advantageous of course but it’s a bit difficult to set one up in my opinion, plus I ain’t much of a team guy, I get it’s the only real way you can counter stuff like this but it’s still pretty annoying coming from someone that tends to solo queue quite a lot.
