Listen, I LOVE the Anniversary throwback playlist. It’s incredibly fun and just feels…right. Of course we still have the new mobility and that isn’t really what I want from a Halo game but I still find it incredibly fun.
Now heres where the bad starts…
The spawns can sometimes be BRUTAL. Like, get killed in 2 seconds brutal. This is especially apparent in Hang em’ High, where I spawned 3 times, across the map from my team (blue), and right in the sightlines of the enemy (red). I died, spawned, again, surrounded by reds. Although that time I was able to escape I died after a quick brawl with another dude and what do ya know, spawned right in front of someone with a Rocket Launcher. Respawn did, meleed to death. This isn’t the first time it’s happened on the same map and this hasn’t happened as much in any other of the maps but on Hang em’ High its just HORRID. Have any of you had these issues? If you have, what happened?
Sounds a lot like the original Halo CE version of the map. The spawns were horrendous on that map before, so them not being improved doesn’t come as a huge surprise, but that’s to be expected when the map itself is just a wide box with open sightlines. That map urges you to have a very, “spawn and make a move very quickly,” kind of mentality.

Correct. It’s also why controlling the power positions are critical just as they were in CE.

While I initially agree, they were very bad in CE. It’s like the advanced movement makes it easy for everyone to get across the map easier where you are currently spawning. It is pretty bad on the MCC, but it’s even worse in Halo 5.
Well to be fair hang em high is a very open map really and spawns have always been that map. Spawns seem bad in H5 mostly because Spartans are faster and can cover more ground in less time and most maps aren’t that big. They really should scale up the maps in most cases IMO. But the best advice is just be ready from the instant you spawn.

With all due respect. It is very open, but that’s not what I mean. I mean I’m spawing literally around the corner from an entire team. Not far away and they can see me.

I haven’t experienced that… Just getting shot quickly from the spawn
Some of these maps have been around along time and some of the people who played them when the first came out are still playing them knowing spawn pionts is part of playing halo knowing how to get out of spawn traps is important and is learned from playing with and against better players

I agree, it’s a very big part. But spawning literally around the corner from the opposing team who usually has a power weapon isn’t fair. They need to make it so you spawn with YOUR teammates, not theirs. While you can escape many of these, your journey is bound to end soon cause you will almost always run into someone with a power weapon.

Spawning with your teammates only makes spawn killing that much easier some of the maps are tiny with sprint and other abilities you can move fast and cover more spawns its really a issue for 343 to fix halo 5 has the same problem

I’ve spawned with my teammates on Damnation and so far I haven’t been spawn killed. In fact it’s made life easier, cause at least one of us will be able to cover the others until we can get to cover.
