Anniversary Throwback - a little underwhelming?

To start, I want to make clear that I do enjoy this playlist. However, I’m wondering if anybody else thinks that a game type with an over-powered hand-cannon should be more fun??

i so enjoy the Halo CE pistol, but for whatever reason the game don’t seem to have a “gun-fighters flow“ to them. I’m not sure if it’s the maps, teleportation windows, or just an imprecise pairing of Halo 5 mechanics with a Halo CE backdrop. Or maybe it’s just me.

So I was wondering if there were others that have a similar…or different perspective.

I can never really enjoy that playlist. Lots of moments where I feel I should get a head shot I don’t…followed by lucky gifts from head shots I definitely shouldn’t have gotten.

It happens with the default game settings sometimes…but not as much and not as ridiculous as I’ve gotten before in the throwback.

yea if it wasn’t for every match being sweaty lol … but I think its mainly the movement system which is why the mode feels incompatible with h5. Youre right, the “gun-fighter flow” is disrupted, and I think it’s because of the inherent nature of h5’s multiplayer being mixed with a game mode that was tied to a slower and less vertical movement system in CE. In h5, it feels like the OP weapons and pickups are faster to get to. Same with enemy encounters, which makes the deaths quicker. I think thats why its so jarring and has less of a “flow” in terms of gun fights… so to speak. Everything feels a bit too quick IMO

I like it a lot, but I also think the movement system makes the playlist not as fun as it could be. If CE on MCC had the H5 version of the CE Magnum (I know how ridiculous that sounds) with proper hit registration and no spread, it would work very well.

That 3-shot perfect Halo CE pistol is tricky to evade sometimes.

I feel like I get disgruntled by damage from plasma rifle after shields pop vs Storm Rifle. It’s great for shields but not a good kill weapon. Not easy to remember in the heat of the moment…
