ANNIVERSARY SQUAD BEYOND STUPID!!!

I love the new maps. Really, I do. However, I absolutely hate hate hate HATE the anniversary classic gametypes. They play absolutely NOTHING like Halo: CE, and that aside, they just play like complete garbage in general. So I figure that I’ll just play Anniversary squad, so I can enjoy the new maps with Reach settings. The only problem is, the gametypes I’m trying to avoid (i.e. Anniversary Classic Slayer) are mixed in with Anniversary Squad. That’s the game that gets voted for EVERY time. Seriously, why is this the case? There is an entire playlist dedicated to Anniversary Classic games.

To players who vote for Classic games in Squad: Go play in the Classic playlist, that’s what it’s there for.

To 343I: Take classic games out of squad. There is an entire playlist dedicated to those, and it’s nothing short of redundant to put them in a second playlist, not to mention the fact that it only serves to irritate people who want to play the new maps with Reach settings.

To players who agree with me: Send me a friend request. I’d like to go into the squad playlist with a party so that I can outvote the people who keep voting for classic games.

I agree completely. I hate the pistol.

To the supposed “real” Halo gamers out there it is the “real” settings.

It’s pathetic I know, but it’s all they’ve got. Let them have a little fun.

I agree you should have your own section with the new maps as well, so we can all enjoy these amazing new/old maps. Oh how I missed some of these:)

That’s exactly the problem though. The Anniversary Classic playlist is nothing but classic gametypes. Why are people playing in the anniversary squad playlist, and voting for classic gametypes when they have an entire playlist dedicated to classic gametypes? I play anniversary squad hoping to avoid those gametypes, but that’s all people vote for.

Dude, Really? Everyone knows the CE:A settings suck and are pretty much completely for nostalgia reasons. I find them fun but more in the “new and exciting” kind of way than actually enjoying the skill of the gameplay., The “hitscan” pistol, it’s different RoF to compensate for the changes in Reach, the bloom, the larger reticule, increased bullet magnetism/aim assist, low jump height, high gravity, poor strafing, useless AR, 50% melee (wtf), no more power up bounces (or whatever they were called; using nades and stuff to blow power ups down from platforms), short fused grenades, easy to shoot sniper, and random shotgun are just SOME of the things that keep it from being CE (I’m sure someone who was actually a competitive CE player could name off 20 more). It hardly has any greater skill gap than default Reach, and everyone knows that. I can absolutely guarantee that these settings will never be used competitively, nor that any true CE vet is “loving them”. Maybe he’s glad to see the beautiful maps and shot registration, but otherwise I guarantee he’s disappointed. I was 10 when CE came out and I’m even disappointed. 343 really hyped up CE:A making it seem like they could do a lot more than they actually could. Not to bash 343, but I just find it hilarious that you will take a stab at competitive Halo any chance you get, even when you actually don’t even know the facts.

Also, to OP: I haven’t experienced what you’re talking about as I haven’t played Anniversary squad, but from what you’re saying: I would think 343 learned from the TU vs ZB settings that 1. everyone is going to have a preference, no one is going to like both the same and 2. It’s a real pain in the hiney to switch settings and play styles every game. Especially such drastic settings as default to CE:A; ZB TU to Regular TU was one thing, but CE:A to Default? Man I don’t know what they were thinking. Is it 5v5’s like squad slayer? If it’s 4’s, I don’t see why they wouldn’t just take anniversary squad out and put a DLC playlist back in.

Also I just want to say that the “modified” Anniversary maps are so awesome; I find it really phenomenal how 343 managed to modify these maps to work with Reach’s settings and weapons.

There’s your compliment sandwich, 343

Well… not really… but I still love you guys.

Honestly, I wonder if mixing the Anniversary-Pistol game-types with Anniversary-DMR game-types in one list and then having Vanilla and TU settings mixed in another would make things “happier.”

As it is, I don’t have place to reliably play Reach and the DLC together.

But do keep a cool attitude. It will help in the long run.
