A lot of people have been complaining that H4 will be a departure from the classic halo experience. I would just like to remind everyone that there may still be anniversary titles that may pay homage to the original game mechanics.
It’s unlikely. The only reason 343 made Halo Anniversary is because of the 10 year Anniversary of Halo. If a Halo 2 Anniversary ever happened, its unlikely that it would feature multiplayer, and it wouldn’t happen until 2020 at the earliest.

You are right on that. Personally, I am really open to the changes h4 is offering.
If it’s a departure, they’ll notice the drastic decrease in their original fanbase, and go casual again.
Oh god, H2A will be AMAZING! Cant f*cking wait! Or even H3A :DDD
There will be classic playlists similar to Halo 3’s gameplay in Halo 4 so I’m not really worried if I don’t like the new changes to the games multiplayer. Just pointing out that a Halo 2 Anniversary is possible since there is such a high demand for it.

I honestly hope neither of these happen, but that’s me.

100% disagree. Halo 2 needs to be back on Xbox Live, and it’s going to happen.
I wouldn’t mind a remake of Halo 2’s Campaign as an XBL Arcade game, but it’d just be dumb to remake any of the others.

I highly doubt it will ever make a formal return. You can still play it through Halo 2 Vista or Xbox Connect.

It’s not the same thing at all. Halo 2 needs to be a free arcade game for everyone on the next xbox console. I just want a ton of people to have it on the xbox. XBC and Vista are so laggy and it’s next to impossible to get full matches. If you’re trying to play a full match on anything other than Lockout or Coag you’re 100% screwed.

I’ve never had any extreme lag on Halo 2 Vista, and I’ve heard good stories about XBC. I’m not against an arcade release for Halo 2, either. However, a Halo 2 Anniversary is a completely different matter.
I doubt any more anniversary games will be released, because as was said it was a celebration of 10 years of Halo. However I would like to see an ODST sequel, or something along those lines, just a look at the universe from a different perspective.

My PC is garbage so is not just lag but also terrible framerate. And their is no way I’d upgrade my PC to play 5 player BR/Snipers on Lockout. haha. XBC and Xlink are the same as Vista. The games do lag a bunch but it doesn’t really matter in Halo 2 as it’s filled with aim helpers which make lag not seem as bad.

Why 2020? Just curious, as 10 years of halo 2 is 2014.

Second anniversary.
