Anniversary Playlist

What do you think about this playlist, with old maps.

I personally liked to play this game type.

I liked it, but the maps were a little awkward with sprint and abilities. Plus it made some of the climbs and jumps in maps like Hang 'Em High and Battle Creek a lot easier than they used to be.

yes but i like that combo, old maps new skills.
it feel nostalgic :stuck_out_tongue:

I found that what happened is the other team could get everywhere so fast with sprint and teleporters that if you weren’t always with your team, you were surrounded and dead so fast.

There’s a lot of truth to this, especially on Battle Creek. All of a sudden the other team is behind you and you’re all toast, because three shot kill is luda.

Exactly. So I had a hard time with it. My husband is a lot better so he was doing fine. Me I kept dying and getting separated and don’t know the maps well since I didn’t even play till 3 and didn’t play multiplayer really till 5. And I swear every time I tried to get out of someone’s line of sight I moved into someone else’s and then someone else’s. They were everywhere. It felt like we were 4 people against 50.

That’s the one thing that I can say I liked about this playlist, and something you obviously didn’t - I actually knew the maps and where all the guns spawned! It was awesome. As opposed to Halo 5, where the minor power weapons that I get owned by (shotgun, hydra) aren’t put on blast, so when it’s a map that isn’t played too often I get destroyed.

It also doesn’t help that you spawn with a pocket sniper, and then basically every map has a real sniper on it. The shotgun was completely useless in its Halo 5 form (the one in CE actually had some range to it).

It is a question of attaching to maps. In some games I was really bad, the enemy team dominated the map completely, but in other games everything was very different. But you learn to shoot straight to the head faster, since the magnum ce is very powerful.

Yeah, if I played some more and got use to the maps I would probably do a lot better. I just am one of those people who get easily disoriented in video games and it take me forever to learn my way around. Those maps were hard for me because some of them are like crazy mazes. So I had no clue where I was and was awesome at falling into the green stuff on what was it, damnation? Maybe…

But yeah I didn’t even bother trying to use any other type of gun when we played last night. It seemed pointless which made me kind of sad. Because part of the fun is racing for certain weapons.

I only had the chance to play one match. I liked it so far, hope they will be there this weekend when I will have the time to play.

Try to locate the bases and where are the power weapons and increases.
How about we play at night?

I do not think this was just for one day

I’m not sure if my husband and I are getting on tonight. We might. But we might do some chores and pack. We are moving in two weeks.

No problem, when you have time it will be

The maps are great though I haven’t played Rat Race yet. My one compliant is that Damnation is a tad off. The hall leading up from the Health Pack is much too narrow and while Damnation has always been one of those maps where if you control the top of the map, you win, there’s always been a chance for the opposing team to make a decent charge and try to retake the top of the map. The Halo 5 remake makes it nearly impossible to regain any sort of map control once the top is held down

If the playlist had the sprinting and the abilities disabled, I would have re-installed Halo 5 to play it. With all of that stuff still turned on though, there’s no real point to it.

the movement =/= map playstyle , its classic maps with the new movement mechanic’s and it just doesn’t work

I think get rid of clamber, sprint, ground pond and everything apart from the evade boost and increase the jump height, this means that the map movement is the same as in the classic playlists, but you still have your evade so that you can out manoeuvre your opponent in a gun fight and when you go back to a h5 game mode its not to foreign and makes switching between playlists easer, any way, that’s what I think

It was nice to (re)revisit some of the old maps once again, though it does feel awkward and for some odd reason a little morally wrong for abilities to be enabled. As such I am attempting to abstain from all ability movement whenever I’m on those maps and play them how they were meant to be played.
