Hello there!
So I’m doing my final year of university and I’m due to graduate in about 2019.
I know this is a massive longshot and probably would never happen, but I’m really into 3D Animation, and I’d be looking to improve my work in any way possible, or have some way into the industry so I can improve and master my skills.
Now I wouldn’t be asking for a job with 343 (Even though that is my ultimate goal and I’m going to do my bes to achieve it!), but I didn’t know if I could be given some guidance on where/how to have a better chance of getting a job in the industry.
E.g. What do you look for in an animation showreel, what skills and traits are beneficial to working in a creative team, and what tools do you consider industry standard and would there be anything worth me investing time in.
I was once told learning Python is going to be beneficial, but I’m not sure how true that is.
Anyway!
I want to be an amazing 3D Animator, if someone either on the forums or even someone from 343 could lend some of your amazing wisdom upon me, I’d be eternally grateful!
Also! To who ever came up with the concepts (Animatic, Ideas, Pre-Vis and to whoever is responsible for animating Locke in the trailer.) to the Gamespot Locke Trailer, has got to be one of my favorite Halo trailers, period! Really captures the nature of a Spartan 4! That jetfighter on legs characterized!
Thanks for giving this a read!
