Angry Joe's Review: 3 million REQ points

Angry Joe did rant about how you need millions of REQ points to get all the customisation elements in the game, how you need to spend $1000 in microtransactions to get them all or play for 600+ hours.

But really, that’s just for armours, helmets, emblems and visor colours… it’s not that important to most players.

If you need $1000 in MT’s to have the ability to even use any weapon you like in Arena multiplayer, then players would be pressured to grind till their controllers melt or pour their bank account into REQ packs.

Why spend money when you can just earn it? Who cares about how long it takes.

Someone with a life and limited free time playing video games might care how long it takes.

Oh, to be a student / retired worker / unemployed again…

Then that person will just pick up and play whenever he or she has the time to…

I really don’t get that complaint at all. How is this notably different from just having a standard unlock system, aside from providing the option to pay in cash instead of time? It always takes forever to unlock everything. Isn’t that kind of… The point?

This is why I am strongly against the REQ system. With the amount of time you need for unlocks, especially when the items you want aren’t ever guaranteed, just makes for a dull experience. I was much happier in Halo 4 and Reach when I knew what I was working for. Even if the same amount of playtime was needed for both unlock methods, I’d rather have a goal than just hoping an RNG gives me the armor piece I want.

Well yeah, if you unlocked it all in 5 mins, well, there’s no incentive to keep playing right?

Best thing to do is not to click that tools videos, or even discuss him he’s a joke. And you give him the ability to not have a real job sit around making those joke vids with his fake @$$ persona.

Totally agree. Treating yourself to a req pack here and there is all good, but unlocking gear should take a while as it gives players more things to work towards (since the commendations are really easy this time around).

agreed i maximed a few of them already. Personally however i do not even care about armor, helmets, emblems, assasinations and things like that. Id rather have a weapon or vehicle.

Proposal: Implement “Preferred items” system to allow players to choose a category of REQs (Loadout weapons, Power weapons, Vehicles, Powerups, Armour variants, Miscellaneous). Items from said category would be more likely to appear.

Funny thing is that he was wrong about one thing. You get 2 permanent req cards in sliver as well. So it will actually only take 1.5 million req points. Also I don’t see why this is suck a big deal. Remember the amount of Credits it took to get all the Halo Reach cosmetic’s?

If you are not an Architect student, that is.

nope, someone did the math, if you buy only silvers until you have got all the unlocks you can, and then buy golds until you have everything, it costs 3,000,000 Req Points.
If you go the other way, Gold, then sliver, it costs 4,500,000.

You can’t get all permanent unlocks through Silver. Once you are done with Common, Uncommon and Rares, you will have to get Gold packs to unlock Ultra-Rares and Legendaries.

So it is actually closer to about 2,2 million credits. You should be able to get them (if we consider you may get about 1,250 credits per match) in about 1800 games.
It is leagues better than Halo Reach, and then again, we find out Angry Joe is spilling BS!

AJ saying things that are not true at all?! How surprising!!! /sarcasm

nope, Silvers only give you Common to Rare cards, so you can’t get all permanent unlocks
To get everything you need to buy gold packs, so you can get all the Ultra Rare, Legendary, and Mythic permanent unlocks.

Joe’s math is off a bit. He doesn’t take into account the effect of RP boosters, nor does he consider selling superfluous cards (just how many Mongooses…Mongeese?..do you need anyway?) It’s still a fair amount of grinding, but if people are daft enough to drop that sort of scratch because they can’t wait, then I might have this bridge down in Brooklyn they might be interested in.

I dislike that I cannot earn armor throughout my own achievements anymore. How hard would it have been to make it so you unlock armor sets for finding all the collectibles, finding all the skulls, and beating the game on legendary? This is why i am probably always going to wear my Helioskrill armor, because I like displaying the armor that I EARNED and didn’t just get through some random coin slot machine.

Why does it matter if armor is purely cosmetic and for weapons Forge will have the option for you to spawn it at will anyway? This only applies for Warzone. Arena and custom games is still a thing. If 343i allows all the guns from Warzone to be spawnable in Arena then honestly I don’t think any complaint you have is valid.
