Android Halo Channel Doesn't Work

I keep getting an error that says “The data required to initialize Halo Channel could not be retrieved. Please check your network and try again.”

Edit: Upon further investigation it seems we needed to be invited to the Android Waypoint Beta. To get invited we needed to register our Google Play account. Where? I have no idea.

We needed to be invited to the Android version. Where we were supposed to do that I have no clue.

I got an invite and the instructions were to download Halo Channel and opt in to the beta

I got the “Join the Beta” section on my Halo Channel app in the Play Store yesterday. Search for the Halo Channel app in the Play store then click on it. Make sure the app is up to date. Then scroll down, and don’t open the app. Right above the “About this App section” it should say Join the Beta. It says it only takes minutes to join and verify your profile, but it took too long… When I checked this morning it says " You’re a Beta Tester" and I was able to update the Halo Channel app to the Waypoint Beta app.
