Anders sentinel 1V1 Rush

Does anyone know how to deal with this specifically in 1v1?

Wolverines take too long to get up.

Turrets even anti air get destroyed by them.

Does rushing them back with Jack Rabbits work?

Does massing marines help fend it off? Because even if it does, the Sentinels will just fly around any bases or mini bases I just made and just destroy them and make herself better for the mid/late game.

I do find infantry is a good counter to them. You’ve got to remember, if somebody invests that many resources into that build, losing those sentinels is going to hurt them. I’m not saying you’re not going to come out casualty free and without building losses, but you can fend them off with marines or grunts. Once you’ve fended them off start with Wolverines if you get a chance. You’ll have them on the back foot.

The only difficulty really if the high mobility of the Sentinels. You just have to play it in the moment.

I never was a big fan of infantry since I see there usefulness only for taking objectives like the forerunner ‘‘money machines.’’ Unless they balanced it all out because back in Halo Wars 1, infantry was mostly useless besides putting Spartans in tanks and they were usable in 1v1s for capturing reactors and such. In this game so far, I’ve only used them for early harassment and objective securing.

  2. I’m going to have to play Anders to see how much those Sentinels cost. JackRabbits for example, you can rush with and secure a few mini bases and even a full second base before hitting your opponent 5/6 mins in.

  4. The only logical move would be to go wolverines. They just would take too long to get out because by then, she would’ve killed all my mini bases and such and gain decent map control with those sentinels she retreated with. She can sack a decent amount of those sentinels when rushing by circling around my base (microing) killing my supply pads and generators given herself even more of a big lead.

It’s definitely frustrating overall but in order to be a good player at this game like the original (was mid 40s TS winning over half of my high level games) I’m going to need to be able to defend against any type of rush and come out ahead of my opponent or dead even with them after all is said and done.

It really won’t surprise me if the Sentinels get some form of damage reduction or cost increase. I really shouldn’t worry about it too much anyway.

I haven’t done enough deathmatch yet to judge rushes and such yet, but has anyone tried rushing global infantry upgrades out against this? Basic stat upgrades like that are usually more effective on massed, faster attacking units like the marines than what the opponent could put on the sentinels.

Marines are great against air units when they have been upgraded with rocket launchers. Usually you will wipe or make the enemy retreat their sentinels.

Rush her before she gets the sentinel power upgrade, kill her expo with 2 or 3 rabbits if no expo hit her supply pads.

at that point i wouldn’t even worry about jackrabbits. I would say build 4-5 marines to start and put a global rally point on her base or close to it. Keeping the pressure on by pumping out marines. While she is busy dealing with the marines that give you a window to either move into wolfs or something better… or you can just kill her then.

If the sentinel rush is done correctly there is no way to stop it because lvl 2 sentinels can kill pretty much anything easily that you have 4 mins into the game with if done correctly you can have 6 to 8 lvl 2 sentinels and they build faster than most units if you upgrade anders leader powers correctly this being said I have only seen the build done correctly 2 or 3 times hope this helps

Could work just played 3 1v1s in a row vs anders I kill her expo so early.

Honestly anders is only OP if you let her have that base.

I transition into marines from my mini bases with a turret for D as I am forge worst case I can take another base.
