Anders, Installation 09 and Halo Wars characters

With the Discover Hope trailer/opening cutscene we see on Chief’s HUD that Halsey’s last modified his GEN3 on September 19th, 2561. The pilot then tells Chief that he’s been drifting in space for a while, I guess a few months. Maybe it’s even early 2662. Halo Wars 2 main Campaign takes place in March-April 2559, with the post-credits scene having Anders on Installation 09 detected and pulled out of slipspace by a Guardian. So this takes place a little over 2 years before Halsey modified Chief’s armor. I think there’s a possibility that Anders and Installation could have a role in Infinite. With Anders, I think this could lead to the Halo Wars characters coming into the main plot. Though I don’t think the other characters will show up until Halo 7. What’d you think, can you see Anders and Installation 09 having a role in Infinite?

Well It should only be Anders and the installation, because if they resolve the war on installation 00 in a quick flash back, I’m gonna be mad.

Maybe just try to keep Anders and the installation out of it till the end of the story, when they are needed.

Not gonna lie, I could see the Halo Wars 2 cast coming into Halo: Infinite. It…kinda seems like the stars are aligned for the Spirit of Fire and the Banished to come in for Infinite. While I think its less so for the Flood and Anders, it could be possible.

Halo Wars 2 ended with Anders’ Installation coming in contact with one of Cortana’s Guardians, Cutter saying the Spirit of Fire has “a lot of work to do before she(Anders) gets back”, and Atriox observing his…rather large army. We’re left with quite a few possibilities for different things, so lets first start with the SoF-Banished Campaign:

The Banished/Spirit of Fire: Its safe to say Atriox and his Banished is far, FAR from over. And with the collapse of the Covenant and what is left of the relatively strong remnants, its safe to say the Covenant are done. He has a massive army of what’s really left of Covenant that crossed his path and loyal Brutes to his cause. Scarabs, Wraiths, Ghosts, you name it, he got from his raids against the Covenant. Atriox is pushed to sound like such an overwhelming force that not even the Covenant could stop, which in the end, was right. And chances are even with his flagship destroyed, he isn’t out of them. It seems unlikely considering the army he’s already amassed. For those two years till Halo Infinite, the SoF-Banished Campaign could’ve:

-Continued on that Ark, making the war ongoing still assuming Atriox has the forces to fight against the SoF for 2 years
+War could’ve already ended, somehow, Atriox/SoF loses and the rest leave free
+War could’ve been left on Ark, Atriox/SoF flee from the Ark
++Specifically for the SoF, if they fled, they could potentially try contacting the rest of the UNSC for support, or warning them of the Banished, or etc.

-Spread past the Ark, Atriox taking on battles elsewhere against not only the SoF but potentially the rest of the UNSC. The UNSC seems like its kind of in a vulnerable position with the threat of the Created looming over head, which gives the Banished a moment to jump in. Though a lot could happen in two years. The Banished or the SoF could potentially use the Installation’s slipspace portals to send themselves back into the fray of the galaxy, or hell even both in some odd collision.

Note: There’s no citation of it on Halopedia, though for Awakening the Nightmare’s plot synopsis, its noted that Atriox is cut of from forces inside of the Milky Way. He’s cut off from them, but he still has aid or support of some sort inside the galaxy. Though, I only will note it since I don’t really know it for sure.

Anders: As for Anders’ ring, I think its solid to claim that replacement ring was taken by that Guardian we saw at the end, Anders with it. It slipping into view with the ring seems to suggest Cortana took charge of it. Whatever Cortana has planned, I’m pretty sure it has to do with the Installations in some way, whether it be controlling them, guarding them, or even using them. I suppose Anders could loosely by tied into Infinite for that reason, or have a more prominent role with the game taking place on more Installations than one, but that is a s t r e t c h

The Flood: Alright. So, after SPEARBREAKER and the main Campaign for HW2, several months after, the Flood are released from their containment on High Charity, being contained by the Sentinels and Forerunner tech. The Banished and Flood fight against each other to prevent the spread of the infection, and eventually succeed by destroying the Proto-Gravemind. Sentinels also moved in to sweep the rest of the infection and re-contain the infection. While the main bulk of the infection, which still remains on High Charity, has been contained, two years is a long enough time for change to happen. Throughout that period of time, its possible that the Flood could’ve had other containment breaches, or that Flood had escaped the Sentinels during the events of Awakening the Nightmare. Considering how intelligent the Flood are, and how they can grow, its possible for in someway the Flood to have escaped and spread further.

Anyway, that’s at least what I got to give reasoning to why they could be in Infinite. It isn’t perfect reasons, and by all means I doubt some are solid enough to really work.

I hope to see the characters from HW play a role in Infinite, but only mentioned and not necessarily shown. You know, how H4 had lines of dialog in SpOps along the lines of, “Hey, Majestic is at Alpha and trying to take down Elite A. Castle is at Beta trying to take down Elite B. Once you’re both done, you can fly back.” We never saw the other fireteams, but we knew they had a mission that was related to ours and heard them on comms from time to time. I feel like this way both the mainline and RTS characters would retain their uniqueness.

Sure I can, would love that.
