Anders and Arc Defense Improvement Suggestion

Many Halo wars 2 leaders have devastating fifth Leader Powers that cause the opposition to become emulsified in a puddle of their own tears for several minutes. Some examples include: Archer Missile, Napalm Missile, Mac Blast, Scatter Bomb, Glassing Beam, TRASH DROP, Rain of Fire (By the way, this does too much damage against bases), and Hunters Brand. While these are all incredibly powerful memes, one leader stands out for having the most underwhelming active fifth leader power. After running several tests in my lab and writing advanced equations on a clipboard, I have determined that Professor Anders and her Arc Defense need a buff. All of her leader powers seem fairly decent besides this one. If anyone has ever used Arc Defense, they will notice that it doesn’t seem to kill anything or provide area denial due to poor damage and low sentinel health. As a testament to how useless Arc Defense is currently, I command my units to stand directly under it to bask in it’s glory. The best way to improve this power would be to increase the sentinel damage by at least forty percent and increase the amount of sentinels spawned by this perk this -> 8/12/16. These buffs will help Anders keep up with other leaders and not be too overpowered. I am unsure if these sentinels are the exact same as the ones guarding the power nodes with different pathing, but if this is the case, a global sentinel damage buff would not make sense. If they are indeed the same as power node sentinels, I would recommend giving the forty percent global buff only when the perk is unlocked for obvious reasons.

The main purpose of sentinels IMO is to have the enemy attack something other than the units I paid for. If the enemy isn’t entirely attacking my army, rather attacking the sentinels instead, then they will lose more easily.

Fine proof of this is simply playing terminus firefight. Whenever an ultimate unit gets its own round, such as a scarab or flood abomination, they will barely more at all because they are too busy trying to kill the sentinels swarming around them. This halts their progress, giving you more time to kill them.

If if you attack bases then use sentinel swarm, the AA turrets will shoot at the sentinels instead of your main air, giving you an advantage.

What I’m trying to say is sentinel swarm is mainly meant to point the enemy’s guns in another direction, not seriously hurt them. Remember, Anders is one of the game’s best turtles, so anything that makes them not attack your base helps a lot. Trust me.

Also, I don’t think the Arbiter’s leader power packs that big of a punch, either, so spread the hate.

I am impressed with your creativity with Arc Defense, however I disagree with that purpose in PvP. The perk’s name is Arc DEFENSE and I believe the intent is for it to defend and provide area denial. If I want a distraction, I’ll pick Isabel to get that dank HOLO DECOY. Can anyone tell me if they’ve had any success whatsoever with this ability in deathmatch?

If that were true, it would be Ark Decoy.

Dude, it’s called arc defense, not player defense. Anders is manipulating them into being cannon fodder, but prior to that they were supposed to be defending the Ar**(k/c),** hence the name.

I honestly don’t care if it’s called Ander’s sentinel birthday bash🍰. I just want it to do actual damage while holding a position.

Well, to each his own.

The Banished are destroying the Ark, the UNSC/ Spirit is defending it. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Being manipulated doesn’t mean you should do less damage, especially if you are unknowingly fulfilling your original purpose.

Please change to Anders birthday bash

As an Anders main my self, you are on point with this. And i could not agree more. I would like to add just a little bit on to it, maybe if they added a slight defense buff to the sentinels to they don’t die as quickly to anti-air.

It serves more of a distraction. Other leaders have 1-shot powerhouse attacks, while Anders showers you with multiple smaller-scale attacks. Anything more powerful than these and she would be OP. Don’t forget that her fifth power can grant an ultimate unit. Retriever Sentinels can just spawn in thin air, no waiting, and do continuous damage through the entire match if you keep it alive.
