I turned on Halo 4 this afternoon and after choosing my storage device the starting banner appeared saying “Welcome, blah, blah” you know which one I’m talking about, just like when I first turned the game on. I hit okay and then it brings up my Spartan menu, showing my Spartan in default gear and the dog tag emblem, that’s when I start worrying. I went to the War Games menu and it played the intro video, after it was over I went to the Spartan menu yet again, all of my armor was there, my emblems, my progress was all saved, except all of the pre-order exclusive stuff was gone.
I went to the campaign menu and saw that all of my campaign progress, except in my service record, was wiped. I would like to know if this has happened to anyone else and if I can fix it.
I have this exact same problem! No one has helped yet. Clearing the cache didn’t work, and making sure there was only one saved game didn’t work. I PM’ed ‘bs angel’ and I’ll let you know if I hear anything
So far @HaloWaypoint hasn’t responded, and no moderators have responded to any of my multiple threads. I’ll keep you’re bumped occasionally if no one answers
I’m trying to call Microsoft tonight and then recovering my Gamertag/moving my saved data on and off a flash drive.
Damn second page fast. At least it’s not an isolated incident so it’s bound to get some notice soon enough
Yep, this issue is affecting a lot of people it seems, including me. Here’s my post (that is also being overlooked)

What’s funny is, I can continue my progress on the mission I last played (Midnight, for the “Chief, smash!” achievement), yet if I try to change mission, all I have to choose from is the prologue.
@VinasErgoth Same for me, I can hit continue and it will take me back to the middle of the mission Requiem, but if I change (which I did to see if it would help) it says that all I’ve got is the prologue.
@xJoo Unitx I’m glad that you’re looking in to it, because this is quite the pesky glitch and I really don’t want to redo the WHOLE campaign on Legendary just so I have it as complete on the main menu.
I had this issue in Halo CEA, which hasn’t been fixed by 343 in a year. So I hope it gets resolved for you guys but don’t hold your breath.
Bump, linking someone else to this thread. More people with this issue and no 343 response on how to fix this or even what causes it so we can avoid a repeat
Same thing happened to me this weekend, so I thought I’d throw my voice into the mix.
I didn’t think it was that much of a big deal outside of the hassle of renaming my loadouts until I went to complete some campaign challenges last night and I couldn’t pick a level since the game thinks I haven’t played it yet. Super frustrating.
Just reporting another instance of the problem because I honestly don’t know where else to turn to.
Happened right after I did another run through of the campaign on legendary. Next startup I was missing my entire campaign progress, all Spartan Ops loadouts, customizations, tags, etc. and also lost access to the all the terminus in Waypoint.
Thankfully SR rank is stored server-side so that wasn’t lost.
Trying Cloud Save this time but I honestly think there’s a bug in the game.
