343 Graphics Manager legitimately thinks the game shown yesterday looks good graphically. This could debunk the “old build” talk. He said that “for this piece of the puzzle, my team and I focused on the visual fidelity and performance. The Xbox Series X, our new platform, along with our Slipspace Engine, gives us tremendous amount of graphical power. My team and I worked closely with the content creators to get the degree of detail and polish to the highest quality”
“it took a herculean effort to make sure this little corner of our Ringworld was polished and pretty enough for its premiere! The art, lighting, design, environment, graphics, production and engineering teams involved in carving out and curating this little slice, are nervous and excited to show people a glimpse of what we’re building.”
That being said, the other parts of the game could look worse than what was shown yesterday. And they have 3-4 months. And for those that say it’s because of the Xbox One, know that graphics are scalable. So there are no excuses. And Red Dead 2 is an open world game this gen that has amazing textures and animation.
For those saying that it’s because of Halo art style… Know that you can have Halo art style whilst having realistic textures, lighting, shading, and overall graphical fidelity.

Ray tracing is added as a free update after the game is released. Read somewhere that it’ll be a year after release. Either way, it follows the “Release game now. Update and polish later” mentality.

Insiders from Twitter said there have been 1200 devs working on the game just to get it to release on time. Devs outside 343 and Xbox Game Studios. Essentially, they’re rushing it.
- Halo Infinite has to not only revitalize the franchise. But also be that beacon of light for all XGS exclusives. An idol for others to aspire to. Expectations are high for the game.
- Halo has a very high standard. It needs to be 90+ on metacritic to be a talking point in the game industry. To be considered Game of the Year. It needs to compete with The Last Of Us, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Spider Man, Red Dead Redemption, Cyberpunk, Doom, and much more.
One of the big reasons why Sony exclusives are extremely successful is because they allow the devs to delay their game if needed. Quality over Quantity. Form over Speed. Precision over Force.
I don’t expect the game to be delayed due to MS’s policy, politics, and mentality. Here just to express how I feel.
But is this what we’ve come to 20 years later?? Are MS and 343 so willing to rush their biggest flagship title and sacrifice the potential quality?? Is this what we deserve?? Releasing an unfinished game only for it to be updated after release won’t get the game 90+ on metacritic. It won’t be considered Game of the Year. Much less Best Game at BAFTA (which The Last Of Us won). The Last Of Us II was delayed from 2018 to 2020. And it’s a technical masterpiece on every level.
I know I’m ranting at this point. But it’s annoying that my (and many others) favorite franchise is being run down by corporation who cares more about money rather than quality of games. Who cares more about tradition rather than what is right. Releasing Halo Infinite on the dead corpse of the Xbox One was already a red flag to began with. The game is already held back gameplay design and AI wise. It won’t take advantage of the SSD, CPU, and etc.
I do hope the game will be delayed indefinitely until 343 is 100% sure the game will be 100% complete. All the contents available Day 1. All textures, animation, AI, design, lighting, shading, Ray tracing, art style, camera angle, control function, UI, and etc… All fixed and polished to the highest degree possible. “All” glitches fixed. Go that extra mile while the average won’t.
I know that will not happen. But also know that releasing a game that isn’t ready to be released will not enhance our experience.
