Assuming that humanity was never defeated by the forerunners, survived the firing of the halo array, and was still at their technological peak, how quickly could they have defeated the covenant?

I give the Covenant a few days, a week at most. At their apex, ancient Humanity had a rough technology parity with the Forerunners. Given how Covenant weapons are essentially vastly inferior facsimiles of forerunner weapons, ancient Humanity would curb-stomp them.

Prophets: “Your destruction is the will of the gods, and we are their instrument.”

The Covenant would cower in fear. We were a Tier 1 species. We were so advanced in fact, we were supposed to rightfully obtain the Mantle of Responsibility from the Precursors. However, we all know what happened. So just taking this information, that should be able to give you a good idea about how that fight would turn out.
Sorry to necro, but if Ancient Humanity was never defeated, would there have been a Covenant?
Since Humanity was allied to the ancient prophets
If Ancient humanity wasn’t fighting a war on two-fronts and the -Yoink- forerunners actually HELPED humanity during the war with the flood, the forerunners wouldn’t have been wiped out or made the Halo’s, Ancient humanity would’ve still been at its peek and Humanity would’ve been on good terms with the San’Shyuum still.
