Ancient Humanity being put in perspective

Just now Frankie dropped a new piece of art on us with his response to Halo 5 and I must say…it has a very human feel to it. Definitely not forerunner.

Do you guys think ancient humanity will now be the focus of this game?

Heres the pic if you havnt read the update yet:

UPDATE: THINGS TO POINT OUT

-Ancient human architecture? Shangelli?

-Red banners present

-Mech or Humanoid statue in background

-Large spire structure in far distance

-Squid like flying creatures

-Reddish atmosphere/Desert terrain

Yes I actually think when they brought up Chief’s humanity, they weren’t explicitly referring to one character.

Maybe it’s another ‘lost relic’ under the Earth’s crust? Wouldn’t surprise.

Idk about Earth but like other people are saying, I feel it may be Charum Hakkor or some other outpost of sorts.

That thing in the background though, what the heck is that?

Great question outward…another thing I noticed (other than the massive stucture in the background you pointed out and the flying squid things) is that the buildings still have red flags/banners flying on them…does that indicate some ancient humans are still alive somehow?

Thats assuming it is AH.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we had a lot more insight into the Ancients – why else introduce them so recently, and invest so heavily in them (Bear novels, Halo 4).

That picture … so much to examine. Those flying -Yoink!- things… that vague giant robot shape at the base of the stone arch… The building architecture, which matches the big Guardians teaser poster.

It could be Ancient Human, San Shyuum, or perhaps even Precursor.

This is what we’ve all been waiting for

Inspecting the picture carefully, There is Two star currently visible and the planet’s atmosphere is definitely Reddish.

This Maybe Sanghelios? The Structures look like they have kind of purple-ish tint on to them and THAT thing on the background looks like a statue that holds an Energy Sword.

But I could very well be wrong and the place is indeed inside an Ancient Human territory and the thing in the Background is a Mech used by Ancient Humans for combat or mining purposes.

Whatever it is, looks insane.

Okay guys, updated post to include things of importance

Ill likely try to keep updating this post as more pictures/info are released to point things out

It certainly doesn’t look Forerunner. I’m saying ancient human or San 'Shyuum, with my money on human.

Gristly, could you be thinking of native american influece? That hit me too if thats what you mean.

I forget which tribe that did it (Navajo?) But they usually carved entire villages into the sides of cliffs and even under them…super cool

Could that be a war sphinx in the background?

Look at that statue on the righthand side. It even has what closely resembles an energy sword!

You can see mandible guards highlighted on its helmet!

Sangheili it is!

It looks more similar to human architecture in the Halo Universe so maybe it’s an ancient human installation. It isn’t sleek enough to be forerunner and isn’t purply enough to be covy.

It could even be modern humans like a research base. My real question though is why do 343 like flying squid so much? It was in Halo 4’s concept art as well.

Holy S***…i can’t believe I didn’t see that earlier. Still…it doesn’t look like architecture you’d typically see from the covenant, ag least the left side of the picture…

It looks like that statue is wearing an armor seen in that leaked 3D image…

> -Red banners present

In Bioshock Infinite the Vox populi hung red banners around all of Columbia while they were fighting their revolution.
Maybe if we look at this image in that perspective those red banners symbolize defiance against an authority.
