Ancient Human Armor Vs Forerunner Armor

Ok so I was checking out some Halo 4 concept art, and I couldnt help but notice how awesome 343i made the human and forerunner armor look. So my question to you is, which do you think looks better?

Forerunners:
Promethean
Promethean2
Promethean3
Promethean assault
Warrior Servant1
Warrior Servant2
Didact with Prometheans
Didact

Ancient Humans:
Human Armor
Human in Battlefield
Human getting shot
Lord of Admirals with human soldiers
Lord of Admirals

First, let me give you this to add to your list of Forerunner combat skins.

The human suits, don’t even look like armor to me. Just uniforms and suits. The forerunner combat skins look like armor. Ancient high humans aren’t depicted in the prequel novels as having lived in their suits as the forerunner are, and I think that’s why there’s such a disparity in look. The human suits don’t have any complexity to them, so to me the forerunner combat skins all win in the looks department hands down.

I think the Forerunner amour is more visually appealing.

I hate them.
I thought of the Forerunners Servants and Prometheans to be giants rather hovering fairires…

Forerunner armor looks awesome. IMO

Yea honestly both factions looked like they were wearing plastic plates, sort of like storm troopers. Sort of a let down to me.

I expected something much cooler along the lines of This

The Ancient Human armor looks like it was pulled straight out of Mass Effect.

@qirahs - I suspect it’s a copyright thing… 343i may had to swap the armours because of that.

That was bungie’s concep art… Do you really think these geth looking forerunners were going to be used by 343i instead of them making their own designs?

I dont see how that concept is any less “plastic plates” than the ones 343 used.

What I wanted to see was one tight -Yoink- armor that the Prometheans and the Didact wear around in and off battle , more like a solid pieces of metal rather than a cloak and hovering metal pieces. I mean the Didact sure looks like a badass in that armor but that doesn’t do justice to the description 343 guilty spark provided in Halo CE that tells us that every Forerunner wore a suit that had a higher rating than the Mjolnir.

Yeah, the Death Mask, right?

The humans look cool, but I don’t like the Promethean armour. Why do they hover around? It just seems odd.

human. my rogue mask kinda looks like the human helmet.

Besides, on qirah’s post. If 343i had posted Microsoft’s geth-like Forerunner Combat armour as canon, as part of Forerunner infantries wearing that armour, I’m pretty sure both Microsoft and EA would’ve sued it due to copy right thing. I mean you guys haven’t forgotten Legion, and Geth units in Mass Effect series, right?

Thanks! I’ll add that to the OP.
And i get what your saying about the Human’s armor not looking as complex, but I think thats the point. I think there sopose to look alot simpler but as the same time, really high tech.

I like the Prometheans slightly more, but they look nothing like how I interpreted them to be. More wispy than physically imposing.

Can’t choose, the human armor looks so much more sleek and solid. Yet the promethean armor looks heavier and more decorated. Can’t choose, its tie.

No, it looks more like the armor from crysis than that helmet in ME. Only the helmet looks kinda mass effect-ish, and that is only because of the shape of the lights(which still aren’t very close) and that filter lookin thingy where the mouth would be.

I meant more similar to that. I know bungie made that, its just that the concept of weapons fused with armor, and the fact that the forerunner looked so perfect in it was awesome. I loved the sleek yet deadly look to it. It actually looked like a tier one warrior. A warrior using technology thousands of years more advanced than the UNSC. At the very least I was hoping both sides could have had armor like the didact’s in halo 4, they looked they were wearing Halloween costumes.

The art that I have seen on the internet of what people thought the foreunner looked like looked much better than what 343i came up with. And their combat was also embarrassingly primitive. I shook my head when I saw the warrior-servants break through the door SWAT style with their lazer guns shooting everywhere. It was like I was watching star wars episode 4 all over again. You’re telling me That’s tier-1 combat? They’re no different from us modern day humans except with flashy guns.

@erickyboo. In all honesty, in my humble opinion, anything looks better than those power rangers we got in the terminals

That would mean that us humans are a let down. We are at least as ancient as they are, though we did have a huge set-back, we should pretty much have nailed ranged combat. Think about this: can you think of a better way to break through a door? If you can’t even imagine a more efficient and practical way to do it, then it probably doesn’t exist, even for ancient extra terrestrials. To OP topic: I actually like the human armor, it looks more form-fitting, and the helmet looks more protective than the strange floating plat-form suits and glass bubbles for head.
