I just wanted to see how many think that the Ancient Evil are the forerunners and how many believe they are the Precursors. As about me, i put my euros - my last euros- on the Precursors, though i do not believe Primordial was an actuall precursor…
I still think Precursors would be the best Ancient Evil, but I still believe the Forerunners, at least the Didact, will play some part.
Sure thing, Didact will leave his imprint in the game ;). Actually i heard that there would be 2 Diadacts
Obviously the Forerunners as their constructs (Knights, Crawlers, Watchers) are all hostile and we do see a Cryptum in the E3 trailer (that round ball speeding past Chief/Cortana towards the downed Infinity).
It could also be this Space Magic not included

Anyway, I don’t think it’s the Forerunners since Frankie confirmed the Ancient Evil is still a secret.
EDIT: Oh, I see, those are the Forerunners constructs. You may be right.

Eh i could have used “Mysterious flying orb of death” instead.

If the Forerunners are not this ancient evil, they are sure as hell going to be a major influence in the events that will inevitably transpire on Requiem.
Precursors are far more evil than the Forerunners, so I still place my money on them.

OK so we know the Prometheans are the new enemy class and that of the 3 we’ve seen they make up the majority of them, so I would guess we will get another 2 different types. That would make 5 new enemies which is a nice amount.
What I am interested in is the Ancient Evil and what that consists of, I mean are we talking one being or many beings?

Actually, from the three types were shown there will be variants among them.
For example, the Lancer is a knight Variant that can teleport in order to use it’s scattershot/blade weapon or retreat when necessary.
The Watcher currently only has one that we’ve seen so far but i will assume in the next bulletin there will be different kinds of Watchers that make your life a living hell if left unchecked.
Though there are “blue” variants of the new enemy class. While it may mean higher ranked, i like to think of it as Cortana controlling these AI constructs (due to Rampancy, it make sense for her to use the machines to kill the Chief IMO). Fits in with the whole “I will not allow you to leave this planet!” notion.
Or for Crawlers. You have your basic, canon fodder type. The sniper kind, and the more heavily armed type. I am not making this up
I think it’s the precursors.
You know it could always be both Forunner and Precusor, Maybe as the game goes on we no longer fight one or the other but both, You never know. Many possibilities. Only time can tell

Forerunners-Tried to save the universe by stopping the Flood with a cure.
Precursors- Got killed off by Forerunners, except for ONE and he/she/it kept the Flood’s cure and ran.
Who is more E.V.I.L. (Every Villan Is Lemons)? Precursors. or the one at least.
Maybe he Re-Programmed the Foreunners constructs to attack the Chief, and infinity.

1 the didact killed he/she/it.
2 the flood can choose to infect, or not to infect. there is no cure.
also, in primordium, a forerunner moniter (possibly 343 GS) told some humans that they would face the didact. seems to me that the didact will be the enemy

If you get the chance read the Forerunner saga. I have no doubt in my mind that its the Precursors (and by ‘no doubt’ I mean ‘I really hope so!’).
