Ancient Enemy Thought

I recently posted this on the forums regarding Keith Szarabajka playing the voice at the end of the E3 demo.

What didn’t strike me as odd during the time (and I have no idea why) was that Keith was doing Motion Capturing for whatever he was playing. You’ll find a picture of that in the linked thread.

What I’m getting at here is that this enemy be it Forerunner, Precursor or just some really big -Yoink- with an awesome voice is humanoid in nature.

I’m aware that they can change many things in Post Production or whatever it’s called in the Video Game Industry but he also has the dots on his face. If you know enough about Motion Tracking then you’ll know that those dots are used for perfecting animation. Try to imagine Bill Nighy as Davy Jones in Pirates 2-3. From that picture you can see what I mean.

So whoever Keith is playing you obviously see it’s face. At this point I’m kinda leaning towards him portraying a Forerunner. I doubt it’s the Didact for many reasons. However, there is still a wait before Halo 4 hits the shelves. I’m personally wondering if 343 are going to announce the Enemies identity on the 31st since there’s some kind of event going on around there. I can’t remember what it is though.

Regardless of what I’ve posted above it may just turn out that Keith is playing multiple characters since he’s known for doing that in video games like Mass Effect 2-3. Food for thought though my friends. Let me know what you think.

Also, if you read this certain person who’s initials begin with DC, please don’t kill me over the Forerunner thing. I still believe whatever Chief’s nemesis is in Halo 4 is just a puppet.

He proboably plays the didact, the voice at the end of the trailer was forerunner he used the term reclaimer pretty much confirming he’s at least a forerunner, the cryptum’s are only used by prometheans (Didact) I have more but I don’t feel like typing it right now.The ancient evil isn’t forerunner Educated guess

Indeed was he in the latest video? That would really help me out. Also as he played the harbinger in Mass Effect i’m wondering if he will have a similar role in Halo there is just too many similarities between Reapers and Precursors.

I don’t think it’s gonna be anything we’re expecting. I think it’s going to be something that we’ve never heard of, so that we could never guess what it is, so that everyone is surprised about it, and not just someone who got it right, whether it be Faber, the Didact, the Precursors, ancient humans, or whatever.

Sounds like most of us are in agreement that the Ancient Enemy is the Didact. Makes sense, considering
he’s a Promethean…

So basically say the forerunner saga is of importance then throw all of that out the window, take a crap on 2 (Possibly 3) amazing books.No.

It doesn’t make sense at all, just because he’s in the cryptum doesn’t make him the ancient evil, the ancient evil has already been directly hinted at in the books and in the terminals. Guilty spark says “The ancient evil has been released once again” He’s reffering to the flood. The primordial says the precursors and the flood are one in the same, the precursors created the flood trying to make the perfect species as close to them as possible.

How does the Didact being a Promethean make him an Ancient Evil?

He isn’t evil. The only thing that could cause the Didact to turn like this would be corruption. Yes, he does have a problem with rage if the Librarian isn’t around, but that most likely wouldn’t make him all of a sudden want to completely wipe out Humanity and declare vengeace. That would be more like going insane.

The Didact has a role, no doubt. Something has changed about him.

I don’t think he is the Ancient Evil, perhaps being manipulated and corrupted by the Ancient Evil, but not the Ancient Evil himself.

From the Forerunner Trilogy, there are far more ancient and evil beings out there. Ones that created Humanity, the Forerunners, and the Flood. Now it is revealed that something even worse may have been created, and only the Didact and Librarian know the solution. The Precursors show to be a far more Ancient Evil than a corrupt or angry Forerunner.

The Didact gone mad doesn’t match up withan Ancient Evil. Ancient, yes. Evil? Still, he wouldn’t be evil. Ancient Evil would mean he is as evil as he is ancient, which isn’t the Didact.

Ermahgurd I love you for this post.

I’d have to agree with this, they wouldn’t have revealed the Promethean knight and crawler if those were going to be the main enemy types in the game, they obviously are trying to mislead us.

Besides in the Update the week of E3 343 said the ancient enemy wasn’t in the video.

When Halo 4 gets released, we’ll probably find out that the grunts were behind it all.

Just look at that. They’re clearly full of darknessssss.

the face of evil

The arrival of Kieth ins’t a coincidence, the ancient evil is the Reapers! What deep and complex villains!

BBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! - Reaper, Mass Effect 3

I’ve brought this up before but I have it on good authority that General Zod will be the Ancient Enemy, this information is unconfirmed.

Can I just ask who the hell is General Zod?

Have you heard of Superman?

My current idea is that the Didact is merely a puppet for something bigger, possibly a/the Precursor(s). We will fight him, but he will not be the Ancient Evil.

we hear the voice while the Didact’s symbol is shown = it’s the Didact’s voice.

the E3 trailer didn’t include the ancient evil = the Didact isn’t the ancient evil.

(not stating this as hard facts, but as “most likely”)
