Ancient enemy is NOT the Didact *maybe*

I, and many others, have wondered who the ancient enemy of the Reclaimer trilogy is. After seeing the E3 demo, everyone began to believe that the Didact was, in fact, the ancient enemy.

We might just be wrong.

The symbols have some similarities, but they are still very different. Unless the Didact changed his symbol sometime in the last 100,000 years inside of his Cryptum, this just might be someone totally different.

Plus, the Didat was killed by Faber, and, while Bornstellar now has the memories of the Didact stored in him, that doesn’t necessarily make Bornstellar the Didact, so there may not be a Didact anymore.

The question is, if not the Didact, then who?

Rampant Cortana lol she went full rage mode in the E3 trailer. Seriously though maybe the Precursors.

Perhaps, if the Forerunners gave the Precursors a sign, or maybe the PRecursors developed the sign system and the Forerunners used it as well. They could use it because of a geas.

It’s the Librarian or the Didact. They share the same insignia, only reversed. I’m 99.9999999% it’s the Didact, as we saw a Cryptum and many other signs of his arrival.

But Cryptum’s arent normally Sphere shaped makes me wonder if it could be another species cryptum.

I’m not so sure it is them. They weren’t really evil. My money is on the Precursors, they made the flood if that isn’t evil enough.

Ummm its the same symbol turmed upside down and the red one is fake. In the trailer you saw the Didact’s original symbol rotate to the one that your trying to depict. Im sorry but they are the same symbol non the less.

To answer the question: If not the Didact, then its the Faber (high doubts respectivley)

Why would they make it that obvious? That’s too easy to figure out. The Didact might return but I’m guessing he’s on the Chiefs side, they are the Reclaimers. They might want you to believe it’s the Didact then throw a twist in there.

What if they were expecting you to denie the obvious and you were to think the opposite.

OT: I belive a Mendicent fragment is missing in the plot.

If I recall, Forerunners for the most part find our species Heretical, as in the canon had proclaimed ourselves as the true Mantle, just as the Precursors wanted. You honestly have to feel for the Forerunners here, this is about the point that I’d give the Weaboo-fantasy--Yoink!--version of a Forerunner a big hug and say “It’s all right”, but you know, instead we accidentally went to war trying to do just that in a sense (Oh noez! Teh hoomanz tryin to save me by killin invasiv floodz??? must kill da hoomans! Mantle feva!). Anyways, getting to the point, I find Didact-ified Bornstellar a very logical (and likely) candidate for “Ancient Evil” (More like “Ancient Jealousy”). So, all in all, the Precursors would never want to kill their favorite, jock-like, son for ruining their plans, but rather take the anger out on the illegitimate, sophisticated, emotional son (Forerunner), so the Precursors are out of the question, unless the fact that the Forerunners have numbers lower than San 'Shayuum makes them just blow Orion’s arm up to Keep It Clean. So, if Humanity has a returning enemy, it’s Infected-Bornstellar. If this is the case, than the death of the Manipular and the Didact would lead to other Forerunners becoming…well, angry. And if my thoughts are correct, Forerunners are like the Emos with a Organized, yet civil species of the Galaxy…so, you know, they’ll want to bring us back to the stone age blah blah. I think I’m starting to ramble now…anyways, back on subject, it’s definitely Forerunner, most likely Bornstellar, though i wouldn’t be surprised if Halo 4 broke canon and made it the precursors, or something else.

EDIT: A just remembered, our old blue, tin-can pal might be paying us a visit in a new form in H4…
