The first episode of Ananke has been posted online. This project is fairly large and the amount of characters continues to grow.
I hope you enjoy it and subscribe to view the following episodes. I’m going to try and post one every week. If you don’t entirely understand the episode that is okay as well because it’s meant to be short on information for the time being.
I understand the first episode is not up there as most machinimas but I am going to continue to improve upon them.
Any constructive criticism would be very helpful. I will post below what I have been told so far.
"The opening and the cut to the titles were kind of harsh. If the opening had faded while moving rather than fading in then moving it would have felt more natural. The titles were prefixed with a fade to black and then had no fade into the bright sequence, this gave a blinding flash. Combined with the title music having no fade in either, it becomes a little overwhelming.
The later credits on the title sequence flashed up so fast they were impossible to read. Perhaps grouping them together and having them fade in and out at the bottom of the screen in the opening 10 seconds of the video? Or having them as credits at the end if they were only short appearances? There’s a long and boring wiki section on it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opening_credits There is a huge audio volume jump in the voice at 2:53 Just a personal opinion, i feel like the AI voice shouldn’t breathe. Odd I know, but the intake of breath could be cut out so it sounds more like a synthesized voice? There’s no sound effect at 7:17, or for this scene as a whole (mainly the bit near the end where he readies his gun) which feels odd. I think the whole video could do with some ambient sound effects to be more immersive. Is it Halo that makes the players glow so much? They are like lightbulbs a bit, maybe it’s the shields and I’m being a noob. Fade out on music at the end?"
